We are spending the holidays in Orlando this year :santa: and were considering going to the "Now Snowing" events in Celebration on Christmas Eve.

Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with how crowded it might be. We have an entire week of options during which we could go (we arrive the 19th and depart the 26th) but thought that it might be a really special and festive thing to do on Christmas Eve. If that night is typically packed (ie everyone having the same idea we do!) then maybe we should go earlier in the week.

Would love to hear your feedback and perseonal experiences.

We had Christmas eve dinner there one year and have been there severaltimes. We usually go for dinner at Celebration Town Tavern or Columbia. They have snow every hour if I remember. The main street is closed to traffic and has an ice skating rink. You can take carriage rides or ride the Christmas train. You must go to Kilwins for ice cream. It is beautiful sitting by the lake. You will also see some great house decorations in the neighborhood. As you might guess, we love going into Celebration. Have fun!

Another cool thing to do (Sorry...couldn't resist) is ICE at the Gaylord Palms. Tons of real ice carved by Chinese ice carvers in an amazing display. We did it last year and really enjoyed it.

And, as always, another vote for Columbia followed by the obligatory stop at Kilwins!

Do you remember how packed it was on Christmas Eve? I am just wondering if we're crazy to go on the 24th....we could always go another evening if it might be a better "experience" (does that make sense?).

We spent Christmas in Orlando in 2012, and did ICE! on that trip. It was awesome! (and Gaylord Palms all decked out for the holidays was spectacular :thumbsup2) But....it was COLD :cold: . A real turn-off for us northerners who are trying to soak up a last blast of Florida warmth before we come home to hibernate :rotfl: . I'm not ruling it out for this trip again, though. We'll wait and see what their theme is before we commit.

Good idea on this being a good opportunity to finally try Columbia and Kilwins! Its about time, isn't it? :)

Crazy Canadians coming to Florida to play in fake snow!
;-D

Fake snow is the BEST kind! ::yes:: Take it from us....we have lots of experience (unfortunately) with the real stuff :rolleyes2 .

Hi! I have lived in Celebration for 14 years... The now snowing brings in TONS of people, but Christmas Eve is a great night to go...so is Christmas Day! Have fun!

And I also vote for Kilwins and Columbia. I have not been to the ones in Celebration, but the ones in St. Augustine are very good. We ALWAYS go to Kilwins when we tour there.

We were there Xmas eve and it wasn't too bad. There was a long line for a visit with Santa.

We have been saying every year we should do it and it sounds like a great ide . I will keep in touch with you and a meet up.....cause us cemrazy cdns need snow on Xmas Eve :)
