If so, did you happen to notice if they had the A to Z mysteries book set (26 books), Author is Ron Roy?

Most of the things you will see at their warehouse sale is what is left over from the school sales.

I was at ours last night. I don't remember seeing those books but that doesn't mean they weren't there.
Our sale had TONS of books--I don't think these were just leftovers. There were boxes and boxes and boxes of each title. I bought 20 books, 2 posters, a dozen bookmarks and some stickers for $80. That is an awesome deal for this book family. My kids are 11 and 14 and still look forward to this sale. They each took a bag, picked out the ones they wanted nad handed them over to me. I picked which ones I'd buy and then bought them while they were in the car. I'll wrap them up and give them as Christmas gifts. It's still a surprise for them because they don't know which ones they'll actually get.

Ours here is next weeks (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). I'm hoping to stop at ours (in Savannah, GA) on the way to Disney. We'll see how the kids are behaving and what time we're on the road-maybe it'll be too early and they won't be open yet! :goodvibes

I am actually working ours tommorrow. They pay $10 an hour to be used for books. So excited!:cool1:

A related question:
I have been to the one in Charlotte at the actual warehouse, which is GREAT! This year it would be easier to go to one that is not at a warehouse, but in a gym. Can anyone tell me the difference between the ones at the warehouse vs. ones at other locations (that are still listed as warehouse sales)?
Thanks!

Does anyone know if they have the "stuff" that they sell at the book fairs besides books, ie the pencils, erasers etc?

thanks

The one I went to had all of that stuff times about 1000. :scared1:

Boxes and boxes of it. I get lots of bookemarks every time I go. They are cheap and we always lose them. THey had lots of fuzzy pencils and erasers and craft sets, etc. Great stocking stuffers.

Well, I for one just went to my last Scholastic Warehouse sale. I've gone many times over the past several years and the days of the $1 deals seem to be over. At least at my warehouse. They have tons of stuff 50% off (but not the titles I was looking for - and I didn't see any A to Z BTW), but their new thing is the $40 box in the scratch and dent area. Instead off all the great bargains for $1 or $2, you have to fill a box for a flat $40. Which would be okay if I thought the box was big enough or there was a wide enough selection. But everything is just put in giant boxes you have to sort through (which increases the damage). I used to stock up on the kits and other items which made great birthday presents and at this sale I couldn't find a single bargain under $5! I hope for the rest of you that this is just the trend at my local ware house and not nationwide.

Oh - and for the person asking about the one in the gym - I would assume that's a book fair and that everything is full price. Read the details on the flyer to find out for sure, though.

The one I went to last week did not have the A to Z books.

I've worked the restocking at the warehouse for the $10 / hour in books and found out that the warehouse sales are of things that they have at the book fairs.

The scholastic order forms that are sent home are supplied by a different warehouse and you most likely won't find the things in the order forms (book sets for instance) at the warehouse sale. If you've seen it at the book fairs tho, more than likely they will have it! This includes posters, pens, software, and all that other non-book junky stuff (that my kids love ;) )

Do you have to be in education to attend? Or are they open to the public.

Thanks.

I am going to a sale tomorrow...I will check for you. What age group is the set usually found in?

It's for 4th and 5th graders. I'm going tomorrow too but I didn't realize it was book fair only stuff. I wonder where everyoe on ebay is getting theirs cheap enough to sell them and make money (they are $40 through the teacher store on scholastic).

Nope--just go to the site and sign up as a parent. I have volunteered at our school's sales, but I don't think it matters. They have special nights here for educators only. Like a preview night before it's open to anyone.

Unfortunately I have to agree! We went to ours the other night in NY armed w/ our $10 off $50 coupons. Last year there were so many great deals..up to 80% off & lots of $1 books. This year majority was 50% off but lots were only 25% offf!! I spent a whopping $13. Deals not good enough for me.

I agree. I went today and only spent $17. I usually spend much more and use my $10/$50 coupon. 25% off is not a deal to me......

We (me and mil) spent alot for the kids, but I was also disappointed. This was the first time there was no bargain section. Also, alot of the stuff was 25% and not 50%. It wasn't that well marked, so you weren';t sure what you were going to pay until you got up there. There was also less stuff this time. I was able to get DS7 a few things he wanted to buy from the handouts.

Huh, I thought it was great. 50% off works for me. I got 30 books for $80 and I had 1 $10 book and 1 $8 book.
