Anyone been in early Jan??

We are going out of our normal time this year (due to wife having special birthday!)

Has anyone been the second week after New year? how crowded/hot or cold is it?

Hi,

We have been in January the week following new year (for two weeks) and at the end of January this year. It looks like we will be out there the same time as you next year (due to my birthday!!).

The weather in January is unpredictable. We have had temperatures in the high 80s and we have had near freezing temperatures. It has ALWAYS been bright and sunny though, whatever the weather.

Generally you need to plan for cool to cold evenings and early mornings and warm to hot afternoons. Layers are the way to go!
I generally find that I am fine in jeans and t shirts with a sweatshirt just in case. We have always managed to find a day for a water park and last year did Discovery Cove.

Yes we are going out the 8th Jan and back 22nd Jan.

What are the park attendance levels like?

Minimal - you really don't find queues or if you do they are 10mins The only thing you will have to watch out for is Martin Luther King Day on 19th Jan - it is a public holiday so the parks will be busier then.
Other than that, we have never made a PS and always eaten where we wanted to. You can get cirque tickets on the same day and we even booked DC the day before!!
