Anyone back from Alaska yet?

Love your pictures. Where is the bike rental place located?

Jodie

Walking around the convention centre, we came across 3 bike rentals

C = EzeeRiders - the first place we passed. $8.50/hr

B = Club16 bike rentals - the 2nd place we saw. $12.00/hr

keep walking around to the other side

A = Seawall Adventurecentre bike rentals - our choice and really great guys to rent from.

it was 2:30 pm when we walked up. Not enough time to buy the 1/2 day so we paid hourly. Because it was late afternoon they charged us around $44.00 for the time we spent. We had 3 bikes out for about 2.5 hrs.

I asked for one with a basket.

thanks for including the pictures! we're doing the same tour, except we'll bus up and train down.

speaking of which, would you recommend that we sit on the right side of the bus/train, then, since it's the opposite from your experience?

yes, definitely the right side on the way down. They flip the seats.

WOW! Thank you, your pictures are amazing!!
Thanks for the heads up re: the size of Stanley park. Very different than what I envisioned. The smaller whale watch boats look like the better choice - I will save that for trip with DH and go with my instinct that my one girl will enjoy the excursion more on the larger boat with more room to move about and not be a challenge to a smaller group. She also cannot handle a bike, so I was going to walk the park, but looks like I should check out an on and off bus tour instead. I am still torn between taking them to Grouse Mt and Capilano bridge on our full day in Vancouver before the cruise and then Stanley Park on return day before spending the night at the airport - or do the reverse. And then they may override me once they see Vancouver and beg to hang out in the city.lol And now dear friends who live less than an hour out of Vancouver are wanting to try and meet up with us. We know it will be awesome no matter what we do!
In Skagway we are doing the Chilkoot bus up, dogsledding and lunch, and train down - thanks for all the wonderful tips!! The helicopter/dogsled combo must have been AMAZING!! That one will have to stay on my bucket list for future trip further into Alaska.;)

Thanks. Yes the helicopter / dogsledding excursion was beyond incredible. I highly recommend. It was tough to budget for but well worth it! The camp is really something to see and the trainers are an amazing team.

Re: Vancouver - I would check into the hop on/off bus for Stanley Park. It's about a 2 mile walk to the park entrance from the Pan Pacific. You can hail a cab over for around 20.00 cad.

I personally would do Stanley Park precruise. It was a beautiful place to visit before we began to enjoy all the spectacular scenery in Alaska. Saw our first Eagle. the weather was beautiful and we loved spending the afternoon there.

But since you have preteens in tow, the Grouse Mtn/Capilano route may be the way to go with only 1 full day at Vancouver.

I don't know what to suggest to fit in all three sites. Capilano is the least time consuming and an easy free shuttle right at the Pan Pacific. A post cruise visit may be an quick option depending on how the group feels after a week of cruising. I was surprised at the price! I know Grouse Mtn is time consuming.

Thanks for sharing the amazing pictures! I have booked this with Disney and look anxiously forward to meeting the furry friends!
DD is allergic to pets. I will make sure she gets some medication before leaving for the excursion. pirate:

Great pictures! Our hotel is right next to Stanley Park so unfortunately we would have to backtrack to get to the bike rental place. I did find one really close to our hotel - Spokes. Looks like they have reasonable rates. Can't wait to get there!

Just back Yesterday... Had a great trip despite the weather not always the best. The Wonder is in great shape though the crew were doing routine maintenance around the ship. Peter was our CD on board. Just working through all my pics, will post them when I have some done.

Welcome back! Can you tell us anything about the Character breakfast? Is it still assigned seatings? Or do you pick up tickets for it?

Sit on right for the bus up... sit on right on the train trip down. Otherwise you get a rock face for most of the train trip down. You also won't be able to see the historic White pass trail much as it's just below the right side window going down.

Yes we had the TAP rotation. There was Mickey Minnie Goofy and Pluto.

What was the issue with the weather?

So left side on the train up and left side on the bus down? Just checking in case I am missing something.

Thanks!

We have a limited Budget, which one would you do in Vancouver Grouse Mountain of Capilano Suspensión bridge?

What about Anna & Elsa meet and greet? Are tickets required ahead of time? What was your Castaway Club gift? (So hoping that it isn't a "beach" bag in Alaska!)
