Thanks everyone, for NOT responding-honest! Last year I posted an OKW meeting report 20 minutes later. Because no one responded right away this year, doesn't that sound like I just HAVE to go next year? Think DH will buy it? I hope so-the devious little wheels are turning for another solo trip in my future.

I was at the BWV meeting. They talked about...
New...shower doors
dining tables
coffee tables in 1 bdrm. units
bedspreads
armoirs in master bdrm.
dishwashers
sofa beds

As far as the studio's getting coffee tables...it was brought up. One person asked if the studio's could get the old tables from the larger units, since they were being replaced. We all thought that was a wonderful idea. Then another person mentioned that a coffee table would make it hard to open the sofa bed. That wasn't very well received. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens. I think you should most certainly go for the next meeting. I mean...it's your DVC duty right?? Your dh must understand that you would only be looking out for his investments!!!

And as far as coffee tables making it hard to open the sofa bed, how is that any more an issue than at BCV. Aren't the size and layouts pretty much the same. I haven't tried to open the sofa bed at BCV yet, but is that a problem? I haven't heard any complaints.
Thanks for the idea of telling DH it's my "DVC duty". Great idea!

The problem appears to be how to pay for them. According to Vincent Valdez (BW General Manager), since they were not part of the original furnishings, they cannot be paid for out of the "replacement fund".

Not everyone wants coffee tables in the BWV studios - some who use the sofa bed do not want to move it out of the way each night. The woman who commented after it was brought up said that if they do put the coffee tables in, they should be on rollers or something to make them easy to move.

If anyone is interested, I will post all my notes from the meeting later (just got home about an hour ago - and already back on the Boards, LOL)

Simba's Mom - the meeting only lasted an hour, but it was quite interesting. I'm going to email and request that they record future meetings and allow members to listen to the meeting over the phone after it is over - I know there is a way to do it. Not sure how much it would cost. An alternative would be to post the remarks on the website. I would be interested in listening/reading them and have to believe other members would be as well. I especially liked listening to Jim Lewis and Vincent Valdez.

DVC is going to publish the meeting dates for next year in 6 weeks or so - it will be nice for those who want to plan ahead!

We liked the coffee tables at BCV and in the 1BR at BWV, but having used the sofa bed in both places, I must admit that it is a real pain when it comes to opening the sofa bed. Great and very useful and attractive when the bed is closed, but a real thorn when it comes to using the beds.

personally i think all the DVC meetings should be done online via webcast so that way every DVCer could go......................
