Anyone at HS today? What's the hat removal like?

I know the hat removal is supposed to start today. I'm thinking about going by HS after work tonight to get one last glimpse of it, but wondering if it's worth it. I really should have thought of going last night. I read there will be construction walls. Anyone know if they've gone up yet?

We were in HS on the 7th and just wanted to echo that there were just walls up. It didn't take away from the feel at all. No real work sounded like it was being done and the entirety of the hat was still up all day.

We will be in DHS on 1/25, I am curious to see if everything will be done by then. Don't get me wrong, the walls won't take away from our trip, I am just wondering how long it will take them to demolish it....I know from past projects, it could take awhile :worried:.

Wow havent been around these parts in a while- cant believe they are taking it down. Always thought it was an eye sore. Are they removing it completely or moving it?

Pic I took this morning of the hat. Still only walls up. None of the hat has been touched yet

With the hub work at MK, removal of hat at The Studios, major mess of construction at Downtown Disney, are we still going to get any of that open airy feeling you used to get in the parks when we arrive in a couple of weeks? I new they were working on the hub, but I didn't realize it would still be that torn up at this point or that they would rip up so much all at once. The pictures I saw made the park seem very unsettling.

I worried about the same thing a few months back, but we just stayed away from DTD this time, and the park construction wasn't really a bother. We had a good stay.

We stopped by DTD in December; whilst we used on property transportation so can't say anything for the parking situation the area as a whole was looking much better than our last visit (May 2014). I wouldn't avoid it, or worry about construction in the parks generally. We were most surprised by the amount of walls in DAK, but nothing drastic enough in any of the parks to make a dent in the magic.

We were there in early December. Stayed on property and drove to DTD several times. It's a mess. I can't imagine what it was like during the extremely busy days around Christmas. Part of the parking garage was finished so you could park on some of the floors. They may have opened additional floors by now. It's quite a hike from the garage to the shopping area at DTD. Just so much construction that it made things unpleasant. The construction at the parks wasn't too bad, but it seems to me they have too much going on everywhere. Trying to change too much at once.
