Anyone at BLT? Updated rooms.?

Yes they do have sheers now. So that is good.

I think they have already finished a few floors - you can tell by looking at the outside of the building and seeing the floors that have sheers.

They also update the hallways etc with a different color carpet - same design but nicer colors. Looks generally fresher.

We check into BLT today. Hopefully one of the two villas, a 2BR dedicated and a studio, we have in our family group will be remodeled. I'll post photos as soon as possible, although the family will not check into the 2BR until 5:00 PM.

There are some new pics on dvcnews.com. The changes are subtle. I prefer the old bed scarf to the new. I am glad the 2 bedrooms have sheers. Seems crazy that they didn't put them in the studios.

I spoke to a manager about the BLT studios not having sheers. He said that the studio furniture -- specifically the sofa sleeper -- is so close to the wall that there is not enough space to install a second drapery rod for the sheers. We are in a BLT studio right now and it looks like there is less than 5 inches (maybe 4") of clearance for the drapes.

Wil wrote an article for the DVC News with photos of the studio and 2BR see the link about. I am sorry I didn't get better photos of the 2BR. I now understand how hard it is to get photos with 6 other people in the room. I added a few photos of details in the master bedroom. They check out tomorrow. Maybe we can get in there to get some better photos of the 2 BR.

Thanks for sharing the link. I wish all the villas would get sheers. We often get a 2 bedroom lockoff. The studio portion could use sheers too, for privacy.
I wish all villas had alarm clocks & DVD players still.

Thanks Wil and Denise for the photos and info! I truly appreciate all the info you take the time to share. Too bad about the sheers for the studios. So the sofa beds are just reupholstered? Are the dvd players gone too? If so, any explanation given as to why?

Wait, no DVD players? Grumble. Wife and I will have a few long nights if that's the case. We like to go to Community Hall and get a movie or two for the evenings while the little guy is sleeping. I could understand this if they had decent wifi and things could stream easily OR if they had a closed circuit movie channel on property, but this makes no sense. Wonder what they do with them when they remove them.

The reason they have no DVD players or Disney movie channel (which would be so easy & a no-brainer for them to provide) in the resorts/DVCs is that they don't want you to have entertainment in your room. They want you out of your room, spending money.

I think you can get them from housekeeping on request or at Community Hall. I hope this correct information.
We already travel with a small alarm clock and now may have to bring a small blu-ray player too.

On our last trip to BLT in September we did not have a vacuum cleaner in our 2 bedroom villa. Called housekeeping and they sent up a broom and a dustpan (there were none already in the room). We ended up borrowing the vacuum cleaner from my daughter's studio.....I really don't want to have to travel with my own floor cleaning devices in the future.

I don't understand about the sheers. There are double rods on the market and some with a slim silhouette that would work. I need to call Disney.
