the idea of trying the deluxe DDP next year? I just realized I am trying to rationalize the idea of using the deluxe dining plan next year by adding more TS this year. This is without telling DH of course. When I mentioned the new DDDP was $70/day there was the eye roll thing.

On the one hand there is the "too much food" argument and we did skip a few desserts, etc last year. But on the other I would be oh so happy to eat at signature restaurants almost every night. We didn't do TS for breakfast or lunch last year because I didn't want to cut into touring time but the idea of an occasional table service lunch in AC sounds good, especially if we can visit some other resorts. It seems to me like the table service lunches may not be that much more food than the counter service but maybe "lighter food" options and more relaxing. :thumbsup2

So I have booked 2 signature rest, and 4 reg TS restaurants (including 2 lunches) for our 6 night stay. BTW, we also have 2 nites planned where we will just eat our way around the F & W festival (no ADR) - less filling, no?. We will end up paying a lot OOP to "test" my idea that the DDDP is the way to go.

Am I fooling myself or the better question is can I fool him?
What do you think of my plan - will it lead to indigestion and a grouchy DH or some answers to the DDDP dilemna?

Love to hear your comments

We usually have 2 ts meals at least three times during our trip (8-9 days), and we don't do more because of the budget. The deluxe plan will suit us perfectly, and I figured a rough budget of $175-180 for food per day if we paid everything oop, which is about the same as the deluxe plan for us.

We are doing Deluxe as well, mainly because we can do more 2TS restaurants that way. In MGM, the only TS that interests us is Brown Derby, which is 2 credits. Want to try either Cali Grill or Narcoose's on our "date night," also 2 credits. We may do CRT for the girls, if we can get in. I figure 3 full meals (remember, Deluxe DDP includes apps. too) + 2 snacks daily is just TOO much food, especially since we plan on doing several character/buffet meals. But if we use our credits toward signature dining, I think it will definitely MORE than pay for itself. Plus, we love the ideas of the free refillable mugs. We plan on spending lots of time at our resort and will put them to good use.
