Anyone a WDW prep school member? Is it worth it??

you can e-mail them and if there is a glitch, they will acknowledge and fix it right away. Usually they are very close.

Did she put in that she was using a FP for that ride?
No. She didn't select a FP for that ride. But she had one for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 9:47 a.m. with a 5 minute wait time for a Saturday in July. I just don't want her to be disappointed when she gets there thinking she's going to be following this plan to the minute. I've been telling her to build in some flexibility into her plan. I think she wants to be one of those who try to do everything in one day and with this plan it sure looks like she could!!!

Can we just talk about touringplans.com for a sec? My SIL paid for a subscription because its her first time. *let's ignore the fact that I'm totally insulted that she didn't ask me for planning help* She is going in July. Her plans say the wait time for Peter Pan's Flight at 10:51 a.m. is 6 minutes. SIX MINUTES!!! I've never seen it that low. Most of the wait times for some of the most popular rides were WAY short. I don't believe this is at all accurate based on my experience. I know they say that have historical data, etc. but in they only thing shorter than a 6 minute wait in July is for the bathrooms!!! :rotfl2: Your thoughts?

I think that wait time is missing a 0, making it 60 minutes. No way is it 6 minutes at that time of day, even in January it wasn't that short.

That is what I have heard also. I would not pay for anything when there is so much good info for Free.
Your first Visit and easyWDW are the best.

Could not agree more. Dave and Josh all day long.

Which day?

All of the days I checked were about 25 minutes.

It is showing 20 minutes or more on their wait times page.

I would contact them and tell them if it is still showing up like that on the touring plans.

Okay. I will let her know. Will it update for her plan or is that just what she gets.

If I were her, I would run my plan again. Make sure all of my dates are right and that it has the latest crowd numbers.

July 13 is an 8 out of 10 for crowds. Ten being the worst. Going in knowing that, will go a long way to being prepared.

I couldn't agree with you more!!! I just talked to her and I think she's insulted that I'm even questioning the plan. I told her its a good starting point and a great guide but I'm concerned about the wait times and trying to follow it to the minute. Just not realistic. She'll learn the hard way.

Bought Touring for the Lines App Bought Kenny for his character locator and use Josh for crowd calendar and if he doesn't have anything posted as he did for Dec last year I use Kenny's crowd calendar. I still use Kenny's crowd calendar to cross reference as well too. I loved how Josh and Kenny went to see Elsa together at the early morning "Attraction Breakfast" inaugural day and reading their different approaches to the event.

That said I don't see any reason to buy anything from Prep School unless you just like her.

I swear by KTP's character locator app. It was gold on our trip in December. I may join WDW Prep mainly because I just adore Shannon's site and podcasts. She's very helpful and quick to reply to emails, too.

I have the level 2 subscription (as well as TP and Kenny subs, and plenty of time spent on easyWDW and with their book). While I'm using TP to kind of gauge times, I don't want a strict schedule like that. I don't think, with a 4, 7, and 9yo it would go over that well. I like the was WDW Prep groups attractions when you're building your touring plans. They're broken out into like 4 groups: First Hour (or FP+), Second Hour (or FP+), Third Hour (or FP+), Anytime. To me, that's a good balance between no plan and an actual schedule. It also makes it a lot less daunting for a first timer who might not be real into number crunching and maximizing every minute. As noted in a previous post, having each step of your plan plotted on the map is nice too.

I also found the dining section helpful - you put in what restaurants you want to go to, and it builds a list showing you what order you should make your ADRs in (most difficult to easiest). I was able to get every single ADR I wanted at the times I wanted.

Finally, I subscribed because I feel like I've found a lot of good info on Shannon's site and podcasts. She has a good attitude and encourages people to reach out to her with questions. I like to support people and sites I like.

I guess stuff like the restaurant list would be helpful if you didn't know where to go first. I did something similar where I typed "Most difficult dining reservations to get at Disney World" and many people had a lot of different lists with varying opinions. I was able to pull together a good list for my own trip. I haven't made reservations just, so we will see. Is Shannon someone you all would consider an expert at Disney? She seems to be very organized and has most user friendly website, but some of her advice directly contradicts the advice I see on other blogs and on some people here. For example, she has a very intense Disney binder with 4 sections and tons of pages that took lots of money to make. But when I asked on here if I should buy an $8 pre-made Disney planner I found on Etsy, I got a resounding NO from everyone. :confused3 Everyone seems to know what they are talking about in terms of Disney, but I don't want to pay for something that will give me not smart advice.

Last year was the first year I used a binder. I got the idea from Shannon. To me it was over kill. I can see everything in the Disney app. I do like Shannon but her opinions may not work for everyone. I use what she says and what other say and come up with what I think maybe best.

First, I've got to say that I love Touring Plans. Last time I used them (Dec '14) I found the wait times changed right up until the day before. I was reviewing my plans a couple of days before we left and I had to re-tweek things at the last minute. Suggest to your sister that she may want to review her plans every other week or so until they go.

I made my own binder using hers as a guideline. Now it's a keepsake book for us to always remember our trip :)
