I am curious about crowds, as we are headed down in a few weeks and most crowd calendars for this week are similar to when we are going. How bad is it? I'm hoping for the best, either way we will have fun.

The parks do not seem crowded compared to other spring breaks. So getting around is easy. But, the new fastpass plus system seems to create longer lines, as if the park was full. It is a frustrating dynamic. Fairly empty streets and waits for rides (like journey into imagination) that never saw a line before. Set your expectations accordingly.

My advice is to either get there at rope drop, or book your fast passes for the afternoon and sleep in.

Do you mean the FP return lines are long, or all lines are long? We are there for 8 days, and have 5 day hoppers. Our plan is to do parks in the morning with FP's, return to the hotel to swim and then maybe walk over to Epcot for F&G and just walking around. I just don't want to deal with crowds so prohibitive that we only can get on our FP rides. How about attractions like Pirates or the Haunted Mansion?

Are you referring to me? We are going to BCV.

Yes. I was referring to the completely generic subject "anybody there now?"

There? Where? Why should readers assume WDW when you might have meant DLR or possibly Tokyo, Hong Kong, Paris or one of the non-park DVC locations? ;)

Just looking for clarification ...

You are right, My signature that says "1 week and 5 days until Beach Club" is too generic and might suggest we are off to Hong Kong!

I don't see a signature ... oh, well. But a more specific subject line would have been helpful.

Helpful to whom? Are you at WDW? Can you give me the specific info I'm looking for? If you are not on site at any WDW location around the world, then you have no answers for my question and your nitpicking is kind of weird.

More or less helpful to anyone reading this board. The answer to "anybody there now?" is "yes" for every reader. The question then becomes, "Where did you intend?"

My question was intended to be a lighthearted reminder that WDW is not the only DVC destination. Clearly it has gone off that path. Sorry, please disregard.

Standby lines are longer than they were under the old fp system. Haunted and pirates, like everything else, has much longer standby, and they start getting long earlier.

Your morning park, afternoon swim, evening f&g plan is solid. Get to your morning park at rope drop .. That is more important than it ever was. Consider getting fp for the afternoon/evening for another park when you know the standby will be long. For instance, do rope drop at hs and use fp in the afternoon/eve at Epcot on the same day.

Have fun.

Completely agree. Hit rope drop, book your FastPasses for later in the day or evening, depending on your plan.

We found that some FP return lines were ridiculously long (Everest, Buzz, Haunted Mansion...). And we didn't ride anything standby in the afternoon.

hi there

I also wondered where you were talking about....and the PP wasn't nitpicking, they were making a tongue in cheek remark about your very general question....but your response was a tad over the top and a bit narky.

but back to topic...the answer to your question is

I am here now, but wont be for long as I will then be somewhere else.

Hope that helps.

Whenever I finally realize where I am, I should have been somewhere else!

:confused3

I'll be there in about 15 minutes when I've left here. So then I'll be here too, but in a different place. How can both places be here when I was here when i was there :confused3

The signature does not show up if on an app. So if someone is on their ipad/tablet or phone they will not see your signature. :goodvibes

Wow the DIS sure has changed.

Used to be pretty friendly, a place where it was easy to ask a question. I'm not sure what the last few posts are referring to, I thought maybe the OP had a few more answers sounded like it would be a good thread. Oh well

yes, we thought the OP was rude as well in his reply to a PP......but what can ya do :confused3

and there are so many different aps that you can get that will give you up to the minute crowd numbers, line wait times, etc etc.....so much easier than asking a generic vague question on a message board and waiting for a few days for an answer that to the OP seemed time sensitive....

but as always YMMV.

oh and BTW, the OP possibly doesn't use a phone or portable device as he/she didnt know his/her countdown wasn't showing, so maybe the suggestion re apps for WDW wont help him/her.

again, YMMV

I am on my iPad and can't see your countdown or avatar, so please don't assume people can see what you can, or know what you are talking about.

Are you wanting to know if the WDW parks will be crowded or if Beach Club will be crowded?

No, I don't think they were nitpicking, I believe they were trying to elicit more information from such a generic heading.
