Have been here since Saturday. So far have been to Epcot twice and MK twice. MK is packed! DHS today.

Thank you for the helpful info, there is nothing like a first hand account from someone on site. Hope you have an amazing time at DHS

With the addition of FP+ the crowd calendars/apps are drawing lots of question from folks on the theme parks board. During my trip in Nov. a couple of recommended parks turned out to be a little different than what was predicted. Leaving for Bay Lake Tower tomorrow.

Good to know about the app I use my ipad and iPhone interchangeably but don't have the app I have a gazillion WDW photos eating my memory that my special needs son likes to look at. Now I'm glad I get to see all the fun people have had and and will be having.

hi there

I also wondered where you were talking about....and the PP wasn't nitpicking, they were making a tongue in cheek remark about your very general question....but your response was a tad over the top and a bit narky.

but back to topic...the answer to your question is

I am here now, but wont be for long as I will then be somewhere else.

Hope that helps.

Not sure I know what narky means?

Yes, very helpful. Good luck when you get there.

More or less helpful to anyone reading this board. The answer to "anybody there now?" is "yes" for every reader. The question then becomes, "Where did you intend?"

But I answered your question. I said we were going to BCV. Why did you then have to explain in lecture form why I needed to be more specific; I was more specific in my initial response which answered your question. You asked "where"? I said "BCV". Why wasn't that sufficient? The result is now my thread looking for specific information has been hijacked with other discussions. I'm sorry I wasn't more specific initially. I thought I cleared up the confusion. I'm sorry I didn't know that you couldn't see an auto signature. I told you were I was going to be, just didn't see the need for further lecturing.

and there are so many different aps that you can get that will give you up to the minute crowd numbers, line wait times, etc etc.....so much easier than asking a generic vague question on a message board and waiting for a few days for an answer that to the OP seemed time sensitive....

So I can't ask a question here if the answer is available elsewhere? Have you ever asked a question on the DIS that you could have found an answer to elsewhere?
I didn't have to wait days, I had to wait about an hour for an answer. I have been looking at crowd calendars, I wanted some real time feedback. And maybe its easier for you to do this research yourself, It wasn't for me at that moment in time.

This sums up why I asked my question:

.

Let me further add that we found the crowd calendars to be off when we were there in October. We were there for 10 days, and not one park we visited was accurately predicted. Not even close, really.

Just got back last night and I would say that lines were definitely longer. The only conclusion I can make is that all of the people that dont stay on property are no longer allowed fast passes. The maelstrom boat ride we never waited for more than 5 minutes and we waited almost 45 in extreme downpours

Oh jeez and that's on the first tier with soarin and TT highly unlikely anyone is going to pick it for FP+ it's a must do for DS looks like I will be waiting, hopefully not in the rain

Offsite can book them once in the park now and it's becoming available to pre book. Someone else posted even the FP+ lines were taking up the walkways and that was few weeks ago

Hope you had a great trip tho

Geez.... Some people will figure out a way to argue about anything....

FWIW, I knew what the OP meant and the information they were seeking.

Wow the DIS sure has changed. Used to be pretty friendly, a place where it was easy to ask a question. I'm not sure what the last few posts are referring to, I thought maybe the OP had a few more answers sounded like it would be a good thread. Oh well

Agreed!! Sent a friend here to plan a trip and it sent her running. I've been using DIS to plan trips for 11 yrs now. I've seen a shift.

Urban Dictionary: narky

adjective-- British term -- easily annoyed; overly sensitive

here to help.....

as for not oozing with love and joy re: replies, I think everyone is getting a tad annoyed with comments like what the OP made when a person makes a playful response like a PP did......there seems to be no humor on the dis anymore.... people are so quick to take offense.

maybe in future the OP could start the thread with a less vague question, then he/she wont get the replies he/she has been getting. :thumbsup2

But as always YMMV.

Standby lines are longer than they were under the old fp system. Haunted and pirates, like everything else, has much longer standby, and they start getting long earlier.

Your morning park, afternoon swim, evening f&g plan is solid. Get to your morning park at rope drop .. That is more important than it ever was. Consider getting fp for the afternoon/evening for another park when you know the standby will be long. For instance, do rope drop at hs and use fp in the afternoon/eve at Epcot on the same day.

Have fun.

Leaving in 2 days and this is our plan. We have FP+ scheduled in the afternoons. Plan on sleeping in on our AK and HS days as we have All the FP+ that we need. Other 3 days we will hit EP or MK at rope drop, swim in the afternoon, although weather does not look great, and then head to the opposite park in the early evening and enjoy our FP+ rides. Hoping it works out well.:)

Thanks, I was wondering if I was losing my mind. Some people do seek out arguments, that was not the point (obviously) to this thread but some latecomers smell blood and must be bored?

Either way, thanks for saying that, I thought it was fairly obvious what I was asking, especially after I clarified in my second post.

Glad this thread seems to be back on track.

Yikes. Thanks for the feedback, it seems from looking at the various crowd calendars that they are having a harder time predicting. Most had this past week as busy but not crazy busy. 45 minutes for Maelstrom seems crazy busy!

Yes, the weather does not look great and I'm not to happy about it. Been really looking forward to pool time, we arrive Tuesday and are there for 8 days and thus far the weather looks iffy. I'm holding our hope that it'll improve. 60 and cloudy on Wednesday? It's supposed to be 59 and sunny here in Nj tomorrow!

Clarifying it in your SECOND post really was a tad too late wasnt it......just stating the obvious.

Maybe in future make your thread a tad more detailed and not so vague.... Simple :thumbsup2

As for being bored, naahhhh, we just didn't like you picking on the PP and being a meanie.

Maybe, now that you have your information you can ask the kind mods to lock this thread.

Oh my goodness, can you move on please and stop hijacking my thread? You don't get to decide when somebody should close a thread, for the record people can still give feedback about crowds, it's an ongoing topic. You're tying up this thread with argumentative language, that's against the rules of the DIS and if you continue I will report you. I'm asking respectfully for you to move on.

It's pretty important to have an idea of what kinda of crowds your getting into smart thread.

I'm here now that is Walt Disney World in Orlando or more specifically Lake Buena Vista Florida

Crowds are pretty significant and with FP+ you can get in a line and bam you have a pretty significant wait WITH your FP+. I didn't find that to be the case in Nov at all. I kept hearing reports of that but until you experience it well it's frustrating especially when your tired ready to leave and it's your last fast pass. Also I haven't had the luck everyone else has had changing their fast passes on the fly or even before hand.

So we are just changing the attitude and rolling with it. Also plan accordingly if you have a FP+ booked and an ADR especially with the new cancellation policy give yourself plenty of time to get there.

Don't worry too much about the weather it's still better than snow and absolutely beautiful.

Amen!!! I was thinking something similar. That PP came back just to keep up the argument. It's a PP like that, that contribute to the declining friendliness of the Dis. Sad thing is, I really don't think they see it. To the OP- I'm glad you asked the original question. I understood exactly what you meant when you said 'there' and I thought it was utterly crazy that people 'needed' clarification and felt the need to get so critical of the way you asked your question. Here's a thought... If they didn't understand the question the way it was asked, just don't answer it. Have a magical day.

Well we are at WDW since thurs and I would say crowded but at times not? Lines long at People mover of all places and haunted mansion.but also longer lines at FP+ than in past.

We were there in Dec and I think it's a bit different with paper FP machines gone now and AP holders getting FP+. So, is the consensus now that RD at a park will get you on rides in stand-by and then FP+ for later in the day? Does this work at AK specifically? Will be there in August and want to go to AK without FP+ and hope to do EE, KRR and the safari...if we go close to RD will we be okay? Thanks!
