Anybody stayed at Terra Verde?

We have reservations there for spring break and I'm wondering what to expect. Is the community pool nice? How long does it take to get to DW/Uni/Seaworld? The reviews are great but I would love to hear how it was from a "frequent visitor" type who has stayed lots of places.

I have started at Terra Verde although it's been a few years (Christmas 2012). We rented a pool home so we didn't use the community pool but the community itself was nice. I prefer to stay at Emerald Island when renting a house but that's just a preference. Travel to and from the parks was super easy, the worst part is trying to get out of the parks at night. I would say it took us about 15-20 mins to get to the Disney parks but I can't recall Seaworld, guessing by distance and which route you take maybe 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

Just curious what you like more about Emerald Island? We are on a house-hunting trip and that's one of the resorts we are looking at, but I haven't stayed there. We are staying at TV to see if we like it because it's another one we are considering. Windsor Hills is the 3rd consideration and the most expensive.

We have stayed at both TV and Windsor Hills in the past 16 months and honestly we preferred TV neighborhood to WH with the exception of location.n Windsor Hills is closer and on the West side. TV was more of a drive but not very bad.

We had a town home in TV with a quick walk across the lake to the pool. It was small but had a game room and Tiki bar.

WH had a pool that was close to the same size, maybe a bit bigger and a small snack shop right by it. We had a 3 BR condo.

I think we preferred TV due to the town house aspect over the condo and I think TV was a bit quieter

Both nice

I don't know if this helps but I've stayed in EL and loved it. I could roll out of bed and almost be in a park, nice and quiet at night in summer.

That is interesting. TV homes are much less expensive but they are a bit closer to Seaworld and Uni. We go to all the parks so we have to drive no matter what. Thanks for your helpful comment! It doesn't seem like any of the 3 have spectacular community pools but that's ok.

Yes it does help :). We love how close it is to Disney and all the food on 192! Glad to hear you found it quiet!

We stayed in a townhouse at Terra Verde in Oct 2015. At the time, there was some road construction near the entrance. It made it a little tricky in the dark the first night to find the entrance.

The security guards and attendants at the club house were very polite and friendly. The pool and hot tub was nice and very clean. It is substantially smaller than Windsor Hills.

We stayed there as part of our house hunt for a rental property. My husband did not care for the quality of construction. For example, the outdoor patio was slanted towards the sliding door in the living room. This made for a large puddle on a rainy day.

So did you end up buying, and if so, where? If you don't mind :). I want something that is quiet, close to Dis, and will rent out really well.

We are still shopping. I still want to stay at Crestwynd Bay and Seven Dwarfs Villas before making our decision. We both like Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills.

One more thing. The stay at TV also helped me decide that we need a master on the first floor of a townhouse. The stairs would be too much for my mother when she travels with us.

Yeah we have stayed at Paradise Palms a lot for that reason. There is a king master on the main floor, plus 3 more upstairs. They also have the nicest club house and pool I have seen but they are just too far west for us because we go to Seaworld and Universal a lot. If you only do Disney and use the West entrance it's really close. Plus the HOA is astronomical ($500/month altogether because of the club house dues).

I forgot about Windsor Palms, we are looking there too.

OK so I thought you might want be interested. We stayed at a townhome in TV. It was right on the lake, and we LOVED that. We also loved the jogging trail to the clubhouse and the clubhouse itself with all the fun stuff to do there. But the drive to Disney was sooooooo long. It took 35 minutes to get back from Typhoon Lagoon one night. Just ridiculous, boring, and irritating. I really don't like sitting in traffic, esp when I have to sit through 2 or 3 lights without budging. That alone would keep me from buying there. But the other thing was that the upstairs floorboards (under the carpet) had heaved/warped and you could feel how uneven they were even walking with shoes on. Like everywhere the subfloor boards met one would be 1/2" higher than the other. I can't even imagine what would cause that and it made me think the construction quality had to be very poor. So, we are now under contract in Windsor Palms, a 4 bed/3 bath one-level house with pool and spa. 2.5 miles from the Sherberth road entrance. No stairs. I just decided I hated going up/down every time I needed a hairbrush or anything and it really started to bother my knees.

Thanks for the update, Ametista. I agree that Windsor Palms is a lovely resort. I hope you have lots of good times there!
