We are staying at the Dolphin in January 2004 for 4 nights. I have reserved 2 rooms on the Club Level for our group of 4 adults and 2 children.

here is my question...is the club level worth the extra cost?

We are getting a very decent rate of $1632 (total) with the government discount but could get a rate of around $1200 for the same number of nights if we stayed in standard rooms.

I know we get continental breakfast in the morning but what else do you get as far as amenities? how does it compare to the Beach Club Concierge?

I know a difference of $400 is not that big of a deal but I feel like I need to justify (to myself) the extra money.

Thanks for all of your input!!!

Having stayed at BC concierge and Dolphin CL I can compare them for you. BC has more offerings and all day snacks/drinks. CL at the S/D is in the morning (7-10) and then opens again 5-7:30 for snacks and beverages. They are open until 9:30 serving beverages and sometimes cookies. In the morning they serve a nice continental breakfest: cereals, bagels, english muffins, pastry, various muffins, breads, yogurt, fruit, milk, oj, apple juice, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. We get CL as a free perk for being Plat SPG. If I had to pay for it I would put the $$ towards a better view instead. CL does not have good views. If you do go with CL ask to have CL privs but try to get rooms on the East wing (Epcot view) if possible. Have a great time!

I agree with Muffy. I received CL as a comp upgrade which made us happy as we had never stayed CL before. Our room on CL had a poor view- roof of convention center. That was okay for us since we received the comp and spent little time in our room. We used the morning offerings but were never around for the afternoon. You must decide if you will take full advantage every day of both offerings to see if it worth the $$.

Thanks for the info...I have decided to stay CL since I read in your answers that it is more elaborate than I had thought it would be. I was afraid it was breakfast only and really was unclear about the evening offerings.

The other amenities I was curious about are:

1) do they offer turndown service?

2) does the concierge offer pre-planning services such as securing Priority Seating arrangements? (If yes, do they contact me or should I contact them?)

3) what kinds of snacks and beverages are in the evening.

Thanks again for your responses and the information!!!

Snacks and beverages in the evening are somewhat limited. It is cheese and crackers, vegi's and dip, fruit, one hot hordurve, cookies, bottled water, soda, coffee and tea. CL does not call or make advance PS's like BC conceirge. The Dolphin does have nightly turndown service. Hope this helps.

The CL does not provide any special service like Priority seatings. Personally I would not pay for it. The breakfast was nice, but I could buy pastry and there was a coffee pot in the room.

The limited hours just turned me off. Plus I got there late for breakfast and the selection was kind of picked over.
