We stayed there a couple of years ago and loved it.
You could walk to the Convention Center, but it is a pretty good walk. They're both on the same side of the street, so you just follow the sidewalk. Most of the conventions have vans that pick up and drop off at the hotels. Also, you could take the I-Ride Trolley (I think a 7 day unlimited pass was $7).
The hotel's location is excellent - lots of restaurants nearby (plus, if you don't have a vehicle, the trolley goes up and down International Drive).
There are two pools - one outdoors, one indoors. They aren't themed or spectacular or huge like some other hotel pools. We liked having the indoor pool, since we were there in March, but we stayed so busy nobody ever got in it (did their swimming at Wet 'N' Wild when the weather was nice).
The breakfast that was included was incredible. We are all breakfast eaters and found it helped save money on meals. They have a buffet, and you can also have anything else you would like cooked at the grill (I loved their ham and cheese omelets).
They have an evening social time, but we never did that.
Our room had two queen beds in the bedroom (very spacious) and a sleeper in the living room/kitchenette/dining area.
