Looks like it is going to be very, very wet!

I do enjoy watching the bands on TV from the comfort of my sofa ;) LOL!

BBC News - Glastonbury 'set to be mudbath'
Revellers at this year's Glastonbury Festival are in for another wet and muddy year, forecasters have warned.
Rain is expected before and during the legendary music event, Met Office forecaster Stewart Wortley predicted.

"Given that we've got a wet week, I think it's going to be the normal quagmire," he told the BBC.

But festival founder Michael Eavis has improved drainage since the floods at the last event in 2005 and said they were used to "the occasional shower".

Who me ?? In rain ? Mud ? and in a tent ?

No chance, it sounds like my idea of hell :scared1:

If anyone is going, then I hope you have a fab time :thumbsup2

Mandy :)

It'll be just like the Ging Gang Gooley only not as cool :cool1: :lmao:
seriously, no I couldn't do it although would be tempted if Hilton deigned to build a hotel there!

I'm not going...but my cousin is desperate for tickets, i buy offer a space on my sofa for her to watch!

I went to Glastonbury for about 10 years in a row before I had the children and I had some of the best times of my life.

If anyone is going this weekend - even if it is a mudbath you will still have the most fantastic time.

Joanne - who did you see at Glastonbury?? :)

I saw absolutely loads of people. Oasis when they were not heard of - they appeared on a Saturday afternoon at about 3pm!

Performances I particularly remember were Billy Bragg one Sunday lunchtime - for his chat probably more than his music, Kirsty McColl, Blur, Housemartins, Carter USM - tons. I was there the year Radiohead were headliners on the Sunday evening and this is regularly voted in the top 3 gigs of all time - it left me completely cold though!

Although the bands are brilliant and are the main reason for going, there is so much else to do. You could easily spend all your time in all the other fields, not see a single band on either of the two main stages and still have a brilliant time.

There's a Jazz stage; acoustic tent; comedy stage, healing field - all worth going to. Plus lots more.

Yes the toilets are horrific and also the camping is really uncomfortable because you are literally camping in a cow field and so the ground is really bumpy and uneven. There are hot showers but mostly you just wash at a cold tap!

The choice of food is incredible - the Garlic Kitchen was my favourite. I really wish I was going this weekend too!

I'm glad I'm not going - can't think of anything worse :scared1: Wouldn't mind being able to buy one of those limited edition Stella McCartney shirts though ;)

Tom is off with his friends for a 'boys' weekend. I much prefer the weekend I have planned with my friends, shopping, cocktails and lovely meals. The nearest I get to mud will be the facial I have:lmao:

My brother and his wife are going....mad mad fools  They love it though, so each to their own :thumbsup2

My sister and her other half are going too, I agree with Strommie - crazy fools! I have done some festivals in my time but I've never camped (always drove home after the last band) and I've also never paid! One of the big advantages of running a music website was the year we got into Download and Leeds under press badges. From that day I vowed never to attend a festival without access to the VIP toilets and eating area/bar :D

The best time was in 2004 when I was clearing out my mobile phone about 2 days before Download. I happened upon a phone number from several months previously for the tour manager of a heavy rock band we'd interviewed. I knew they were appearing at the festival so I sent him a text asking if he had any spare guest list spots in return for guaranteed coverage of the band. A few hours later I had guestlist spots for me and Scott and a photo pass. Scott couldn't believe the cheek of asking but if you don't ask you don't get.
