Hi All,
Just occured to me - is there anybody on the Dis who has not been to Florida?Do you plan to?

Lynn

I have not yet, I have booked for february 2008 though.:woohoo:

We haven't although have been to DLP a number of times.
WDW and DL will definitely figure in the future :)

My DH tells me that if we hadnt discovered WDW and become Disney addicts we could have nearly paid off our mortgage:confused3 .

Wideeyes weren't you going next August to POFQ or am I getting you mixed up?

we were however my sister could not get any time of school so we did not want to risk going as she will be applying to university when she goes back to school next September, so we are know going february 2008 staying at the Beach Club. going for the whole two weeks in august was to expensive.

You'll love the beach club. We stayed at the Boardwalk once and used the Yacht & Beach club restaurants. Cape May buffet is one of my faves:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Nope and as I'm not brave enough to go alone with the kids I don't know if I ever will - DH doesn't get the Disney thing, I'm hoping one of my sons will take me when they're all grown up, until then it's Paris for us - that I can manage and I'm happy to leave DH at home looking after the animals.:)

We've not been, but its not because we've not wanted to, its the amount that it costs and getting two weeks off work together, but because its our
25th Wedding Anniversary next year we have saved up hard, put in a really early request/demand at work (we made a fuss due to it being a special occassion) and asked if the boys can have a week off school so we will be going next October for two weeks at the Yacht Club.:cool1:

We haven't been before but we will be there in 6 weeks as we fly out on Feb 8th!!

You should always do DLRP before WDW, otherwise DLRP is a big let-down!

Go to DLRP, appreciate it for what it is, and then do the "real thing" :goodvibes

I had a really good time at DLRP, after 3 visits to WDW, but it just doesn't compare to the real Florida WDW!

Lots love DLP for what it is. It doesn't need to replicate WDW to be the real thing. Ofcourse many will say that DL is the real thing... rant over :rolleyes1

As WDW veterans.. i have to now disagree with the above post...
we had a fab time recently in DLRP.. and we were worried about comparing it with WDW (which we have been to about 17 x since 1997)

There are things about DLRP that are MUCH better than wdw.. many of the rides are updated and bigger... and the park imho is much more beautiful...
plus the parks are much much smaller so easier to get around.. but that does mean that they feel more crowded too..

I think the important thing is not to compare it too much... they are different.. and also the trips you will have there are likely to be quite differernt..
We go to WDW for the parks and the sun and the swimming and the shopping - whereas dlrp is really just about the parks... and likely to be quite intense park touring.. at wdw we swim in the morning and head out the parks in the afternoon (or vice versa)..

so.. whilst... yes DLRP isnt as big .. it is a pretty cool place still...

I do wish they would learn how to handle crowds in the same was as WDW though.... lines are crazy at DLRP compared to wdw... (in terms of the amount of people they get through..)
