Anybody Looked At Mousesavers This Morning

My TA at AAA was not specific about having both discounts because until recently there was nothing other than AAA for us. So if we can even more the better if not...I still will probably go with the dining if that is what it is because it would save me way more than the difference in room savings. When I asked her she just said that when/if a discount comes out she will make sure that we get the best possible deal.

We are going October 23-29. It's only our 2nd time to Disney (Our first was October of 2003-Port Orleans Riverside). We have booked a Magic Your Way package at Port Orleans - Riverside w/park hopper, but no dining. Can someone explain to me what this FREE DINING is, when the current free dining ends and if you think it would be possible for us to add it to our package if this would happen to be the discount that comes out? I booked the trip myself with Disney not through a TA or anything. Any help would be appreciated. Of course I'm just happy to be going to Disney period!
Thanks in advance :)

The definite free dining special being discussed here secondarily does not apply to your trip - it had to be booked by August 20 and was valid for package stays beginning between August 21 and October 4.
But the SPECULATIVE deal, the primary one being discussed in this thread - now, that could change your plans

Ok i stayed awake till 12:30... no new codes... must....sleep. Setting alarm for 7:00.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

:faint:

What happens if a fantastic deal comes out and you have made reservations through WDW and paid WDW in full?

Thanks!!

just a bump so you can all keep me informed. We are leaving in 4 days and I want to go at Christmas time too!!! :flower:

Now my AAA travel agent told me a while back that if there is a free dining offer I can get it AND the AAA room discount.

I don't think that 2 discounts is possible. If the free dining comes out, you have to book the package and pay rack rate on the room. You can't book the package and a discounted room rate together. If I am wrong, I appologize in advance, but I am pretty certain.

If it's room only, you are in luck. You can cancel up to 5 days in advance and still get a refund. If you booked a package, you must cancel 45 days in advance to get a refund and there is a $50 change fee that "can" be applied. I have heard of some people getting this fee waived. Under 45 days, there is a $100 nonrefundable deposit. So, some people that are booked in late October might want to watch this is a package does come out because if you have to cancel and rebook with the discounted package, you will lose $100. If you can apply the discount to your current reservation, you should be OK, but I don't know how they will work it.

I am up with you!!... Waiting.... ever so patiently...... Did I just say patiently.... NOT!!! :Pinkbounc

Well it's good to see I'm not the only one awake and checking my computer at 6 a.m. on a Monday morning. LOL. I didn't have to get up for another hour.

Just wondering if new packages are offered at any time of day, or if it isn't in their system by the time they open to take reservations it won't be offered until the next day-----just wondering if anyone knows for sure? :confused3

Also, I missed the initial info on the "free dining" packages that were offered before--and if that is the offer how you calculate if it is worth a switch. I just thought I'd figure it out ahead of time just in case--is there a link to that info, or an easy explanation somewhere? :smooth:

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Well, if you are going and paying rack rate then it would be worth it, but if you already have any kind of discount you would have to compare that savings to possible free dining savings. Depending on the number of people you are paying for, it could be a larger savings. Take myself for example: it would be a definate savings over my AAA discount. I have five kids plus DH. The dining will cost me 35 dollars a night for five of us and 10 dollars a night for my three kids (ages 6, 6, 9). If they had free dining (which I am not getting my hopes up for) it was save me 1740.00 for our trip. So just do the math appropriate to your family size. Hope this helps.

Mom is coming too, so there are actually 8 of us total hence the 1740.00 savings.

If a code or discount comes out, who do I call? I have booked thru AAA. Do I call them or disney?

Just checking in. I'm was hoping we'd see something this early. The baby doesn't get up for another hour or two so I'm headed back to bed. I'll check in then.

I was hoping it would be there... sigh..... In the words of Tom Petty, "The waiting is the hardest part"

7:00 AM --Just spoke to DW Reservations, not helpful...says nothing yet!

Maybe someone else will do better---I have to leave for work--check later- Good Luck All!!!
