Generally what times are the busiest for resort check-in? We are staying CSR and it is such a big resort I can imagine long check in lines can form. We are driving and can possibly arrange it to miss these times if I knew when to avoid. Can anybody help? We are heading there next weekend.

It really depends on when the airline schedule. It will be very busy if a bus unloads just before you arrive.
Have you done online check in.
I find it much quicker.
Have a great trip!

Lines can be long for check in and 20 minutes later be gone, sort of like the park lines. Depends on how many ME busses come in from the airport, if it's a busier than usual check in day, convention people arriving at the resort (some large ones have a separate check in area, but most don't), etc. Early morning or dinnertime might be best, but the desks are not fully staffed during those times either. Around lunchtime the lines can get long as those with early a.m. flights begin to arrive.

We've noticed that when larger crowds are expected many more front desk stations are staffed, and that the guest services desk directly opposite the front desk will also handle check ins. So even if lines look long people checking in don't wait an exceptionaly long time.

I've seen it dead during the day and busy at midnight. You just never know.
If you get there and find it busy and do not want to wait, why not go relax out on the terrace and enjoy the lake view.

What she said.. :)

True that you never know. I used to work in a hotel and it was always consistently busy around check-in time (2pm-4pm) and usually on the weekends. We arrived at POR on a Saturday around 11am and it was fairly busy.

As PP said, you can do online check-in to cut down on your check-in time. If you have requests, there's a good chance they may not be granted at online check-in but if you are assertive and ask to be switched, they can do it for you if they have the availability.

Online check in no way effects the requests you made on the reservation. There are very few requests you can make when doing the online check in, but anything you have requested when making the reservation are there. All rooms are assigned prior to arrival whether you have checked in on line or not.

We always try to check in before noon to miss the crowds. Even if the rooms are not ready you get your keys and they text you when the room is ready.

We checked into CSR on a monday in august and did not wait at all (did online check in, got our request for a room close to the Main Building). I think we got there about 1 PM.

When we checked out (following Saturday) and it was VERY busy....we went down around 10:30 AM and the line was really long.

My advice would be do online check in. It was very easy and there was no wait.
