Anybody have good info on taxi to Port Lucaya?

I have read a few comments, but really cannot tell just how they charge for a taxi from Freeport to Port Lucaya. Do they charge per-person? a minimum charge-PLUS so much per person? I have heard "Taxi is about $25.00" and I have also heard "It is cheaper to share a taxi"

It sounds like it could cost $50.00 or more just to get to Port Lucaya Marketplace/Our Lucayan and back.

Anybody know for sure?

I took a limo for $40/each way , but you can share a taxi van with
other passengers ( not sure on price) I just did not feel like being a sardine that day.

So, that was the total cost... $40.00 each way?
Wouldn't be too bad if we split the cost!

Did there seem to be quite a few Limo's around?

I think you misplaced your decimal point. According to the Port Info Guide that DCL publishes, taxi fare should be about $4.00/pp, not $40.00.

No, I think she quoted the $40.00 right... That was to hire a Limo!

Ahhhhh, more confusion!!! I had indeed checked your site for info. You have such a great and informative site! I figured if I could get clarification anywhere, then it would be on dcltribute!

However, I notice that their information says quote: 'based on a per person occupancy....." So, yes, for a taxi that is a 10 passenger van... then $40.00 would indeed be $4.00 per person, when completely full???

I have heard of people being charged big-time, especially to get back to the ship... because they were the only ones there at the time waiting to hire the taxi.

We just returned from the 4 night. It was $5 pp for a taxi (actually a 10 passenger van)each way to and from Port Lucaya. In Nassau it was $4 pp to Atlantis each way. We had AC in the van going to Port Lucaya and none on the way back. Someone asked for an AC taxi while we were waiting at Port Lucaya (they must have done this before) and they said it could be an hour wait. In all honesty, the day wasn't that hot and we were just anxious to get back to the ship, but the fare was the same with or without AC.
