I was actually going to start sending you pm's soon
Pink_tink8i8, no problem. I receive PMs all the time regarding the events that my family has held over the years in WDW.
I was so incredibly hooked after I read your PJ and Tr and saw pictures of your event. My DF still isn't entirely convinced. He thinks the venue and all the characters are a bit cheesy. I on the other hand, think it will be a blast!
I was worried that my parents and aunt would find the entire night a bit bizarre. But they had the most wonderful night, they honestly did.
I would NEVER ask you the cost of your event so no worries there. I figure if you wanted to share you would have in your pj
I honestly wish I could share because I don't like to hold any information back, but I can't. Suffice it to say, my event ran an awful lot more than what you've mentioned, and I had a very small guest list. But I did have some amazing special touches.
The dance party that you had after the dessert. Was that the location that they mention or was that chosen by you?
The location that they use for dancing is normally the "
black box" area. That's what they call the final room in the Great Movie Ride attraction -- the one where you view all those movie clips just before the ride concludes. The following photo might jog your memory in case you're not sure of what I'm talking about:
I asked for my dance party to be held outdoors. They told me it could be held in front of the Sorcerer's Hat Icon. That was perfectly fine with me. So imagine my surprise when my event was actually held beneath it. Since I had a small guest list, they were able to arrange things such that the tables & chairs were put on the permitter of the hat's island while everyone was able to dance beneath the actual hat. It worked out very well.
Here is a photo that I doctored to show how the setup was for my event:
That's an actual photo from my event. The DJ, his equipment, and special lighting were set up beneath the hat. Everyone danced in that area.
I can't remember for certain right now but I think it cost more to hold my dance party outdoors. That's a question that the FTW folks can answer for certain if you're considering adding dancing to your event. I do know that my DJ pricing was much higher than what other folks were charged for their events (
non-theme park events).
Good luck with your decision. If your budget allows it -- and if you significant other agrees to it -- it can be a very fun event.
