My dd12 wants a trampoline for Christmas. For many reasons, I don't want to get a trampoline. I was thinking about getting her a mini-trampoline. Can a child bounce on those? I remember having one years and years ago and I really did not bounce on it, just sort of provided a kind of cushioning for jogging in place.:rotfl: I was heavier than her though, she's only about 75 pounds.

a 3' exercise one?

Sure.. my kids have had one for years and enjoy it. They can jump pretty high. Check Craigs list of garage sales if you still have them.

I have picked up 3 different ones for $5 each.

Not sure you DD will be amused though if she really wants a full sized one (but I am a "mean" mom who won't buy one either.)

Yes, I mean the 3 foot one. Not only do I fear what my son will do on the trampoline (he's been to the ER countless times for ordinary boy mishaps), I also don't want all the neighbor kids over here. Too much liability there. I get nervous when they invite the next door neighbors over to swim and I'm right there. I must admit though that I think a full size one would be really fun! I can remember that being one of the things I enjoyed about gym class when I was in school. :)

My DS has had his head stapled up and knocked out a tooth.. he is a gymnast and I know he'd love it, and probably get a lot of valuable practice, but I just can't see it. Plus here in upstate NY I have seen many of them blow away.. too big an investment for that.

We got a full sized used one from a neighbor for $15 at the beginning of the summer. I will add, it was on our definitely no list for years, but the kids loved it, they spent most of the summer just sitting on it if they weren't jumping. If was perfect expecially since they've all out grown the swingset.

We did have some rules, but they all did well with them.
