Hello! We will be in WDW from June 25th -July 6th. Has anyone experienced WDW on this holiday? I'm looking for places to avoid, as well as good advice on places that aren't as crowded! Thanks!

Hello

I have never been before on the 4th but if you are looking for a place where you can still see fireworks maybe your resort room or if not DTD of disneyquest is cool too if you have little kids (-5 ???)(6+:thumbsup2 )

let me know if that's not what your talking about :rolleyes1

Definately would suggest going to one park and stay there (meaning no naps/breaks back at your room). Parks fill to capacity on the 4th so if you leave, you may not get back in for the fireworks.

We have been at WDW on July 4th and it is incredibly crowded. If you hate crowds, try to go to Epcot - much larger and able to "swallow" crowds a lot easier. It's a lot of fun - but it will be crowded and probably unsufferably hot!

We are always go over the 4th and it is overly crowded!!!! Went to MK last year and it was shoulder to shoulder(AWFULL DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE IT) so we left and monorailed over to epcot and it was alot less crowded, and we will be going to epcot again this year for the 4th. Was kinda neat last year at epcot, got to see mickey, minnie, and goofy in the american section and saw ben franklin(got my pic with him and his autograph:thumbsup2 ). So epcot would be my suggestion for a less crowded park, and if you have park hopper could always try one park and if it was to crowded hop on over to another one. Good luck.

What time would this happen? Has anyone been turned away from MK on the 4th?

I have friends who were there last year for the 4th and they told me that the park definately filled to capacity by mid day and people were waiting outside to get in. I would suggest staying put. OR just avoid MK in general that day!

If you want somewhere less crowded for fireworks, Downtown Disney has a great display! I suggest having dinner at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs, then walk down to the water's edge at the Congress Park section of the resort for a close up viewing spot.

:) Have fun!

We booked a fireworks cruise through the Grand Gatherings program. I think it will be the absolute best way to see the fireworks and avoid the crowds:thumbsup2

We were there last year for the holiday. My advise, go the MK on the 3rd for the fireworks, same show as on the 4th but slightly less crowded, still packed! We stacked out our spot 2 hours before the fireworks and then sent two people off to grab a CS dinner for us all to eat while waiting. We went to AK on the 4th, it was great, no crowds! We then went back to our hotel (Wilderness Lodge) and were able to see some of the MK fireworks from our table in the restaurant while eating dinner and watched th electrical water parade from our hotel balcony, can also been seen from the beach.

Here's a link to the relevant posts in my trip report regarding the night in the MK.

Avoid MK we went to go in last year and was turned away, went to epcot instead which was really enjoyable. And the two sets of fireworks amazing.

I think it was Mike Scopa that just wrote a great article for AllEars.net. It was in their last newsletter I think. He gave great reasons to go and many tips. Check it out on allears.net. HTH

Wahoo we will be there from 6/27 - 7/6 too

My aunt went over 4th of July and she said it was a total zoo!!!! Best tips we can give ya probably are just not to go then if at all possible!

We will be there 6/27-7-6! We love WDW during the Fourth of July! :mickeyjum Bring on the zoo! We always see the fireworks show on July 3rd since they are the same as what is done on the 4th. Then on the 4th we plan on getting there early and staying in the park all day. We will have a nice relaxing dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and then ride what we can while people are watching the 4th of July fireworks. We go into it knowing its gonna be crowded and we understand that we wont get to ride as many rides. We love it anyway. Being anywhere else on the 4th just isnt the same.. :goodvibes

We're going on the fourth and spending the day at the Contemporary so we can avoid the crowds.

We're trying to figure out what the best place to go on the fifth would be though.
