Dh's bro is married to a Greek girl & they're bringing their kids up in that faith.

As the oldest is 7, 1st grade. I was just wondering what to expect "ceramony" wise and at what age. (Catholics have 1st communion, etc.)

Thanks,

I'm a greek. First Communion, confirmation all happen when you are baptized. I call it the "big dunk". And its all done when you're a baby.

*LOL*

Yeah, it was a "big dunk"! Cource it was all in Greek, so I didn't understand a word!

Thanks, I guess I just have HS graduation, etc. to "look forward to".

Actually,Easter is HUGE for Greeks. A special candle for church is a really nice thing to get your nieces! And don't forget the red Easter eggs!! Christos Anesti!

Alithos Anesti! :teeth:

(I'm not Greek Orthodox, but Byzantine Catholic. We say "Christos Voskrese!" but we also make the exclamation in other languages as well on PASCHA! ::yes:: )

When are you celebrating Easter this year, airhead?

My neighbor sends his kids to "Greek School". I think they learn language and culture as well as religion.

I was born, dunked and raised Greek Orthodox. Now I'm Baptist. Talk about a huge transformation.
