for a 15 year old boys birthday?

We were looking at having a few friends at a party & had thought Ice Skating, but after I called them today & got the prices we have now wiped that idea.

It's going to cost $17.50 per person & there has to be a minimum of 10 kids.

We only wanted a small gathering, not a large expensive one.

So, to all you Mums of teenagers out there, have you got any ideas on what to do?

We are not looking at expensive, but fun with it still being affordable.

Please can anyone help us. The birthday isn't till June, but I can't leave it till the last minute to do something about it:(

Have you thought about checking into a bowling party? It's difficult when they're teens.

Yeah Sugarbaby we have thought of bowling, only he didn't really want that.

But it may well come to that if all else fails. One thing's for sure, I don't want a mob of teenagers here at home.

The thing with the bowling is that he had a bowling party for his 10th birtday which as it happens was his last party.:(

What about rollerskating? Teenagers often think adult suggestions are lame- does he have any suggestions? Have you talked to any other moms of teens,or has he been to any parties recently? Good thing you have a little time to plan. This might be tough.

A few teenage boys, at a BD party? Might I suggest Pizza, snacks and Video games? Trust me, the less you spend the better, in their opinions! Give 'em what they want! :teeth:

Now, if someone could help me in buying an inexpensive BD present for a 4yo boy, I'd appreciate it! (Sorry, another thread)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Kim mate, not bad.

I just might be able to handle that one too.

There is likely to be at least one girl too. But I know the kids he wants to invite & they are all good kids, so that's not such a bad idea.

We have a playstation & I might even manage to get the spare room cleaned out & they can use that.

Good thinking 99:)

See, you're not just a pretty face afterall hey?:teeth: :teeth:

Last December I took my 14 yr old son and six of his friends out to eat pizza, and then took them to a show. They played a few games while waiting for their show to start. After the show, all the boys spent the night. We blew up a couple of air mattresses, and they watched movies, and played video games all night.
I have also done a camping party in the backyard during the summer. We put the tent up for the boys to stay in all night.
We ran extenion cords out to the tent so they could watch movies, and play games. We cooked hotdogs on the BBQ grill, set them up with their own icechest for drinks, and supplied them with various snack foods in the tent. We had an occasional bathroom visitor, but for the most part they amused themselves outside. My husband got to be the official chaperon to do hourly checks to count heads. They seemed to enjoy this party as well.
I have found that as long as they can pal around with their friends, teenagers are pretty easy to please.

Hey I like that idea too deirdre, only June is winter here & I doubt he will be too keen on the idea of camping out in the back yard on a cold winter's night.

I put the Pizza party idea to DH earlier & he seemed to think it was ok.

See what DS thinks when he gets home from school this afternoon.

If he's ok with it, then looks like it will Pizza & whatever.:D

There's a place called Great Times around here that kids love to go to and it's not that expensive.

For an overnight lockin party it's $15 per person. The food is paid for, go carts, bumper boats, mini golf, and an arcade. It's safe, it's fun and you don't have to clean up the mess.

Thanks guys, tho I can't say Shannon's idea is a goer:teeth: :teeth:

He's home from school & I asked if he would like a couple of friends over for a Pizza party night in the spare room & he said YES!

So, looks like I have a room to clean out & tidy up so kids can mess it up again;)

He was thrilled with having just a couple of kids over rather than having to find a certain number to have a party elsewhere & pay through the nose.

This way I can spend more on treats & decos & stuff as it won't cost me a small fortune.

Just 4 kids, my two & two more.........just the right number for computer & playstation games.:)
