I thought Swan and Dolphin delays were due to lawsuits -- didn't Ron Miller make the deal, and then Eisner tried to scuttle it when he took over, leading to the lawsuits?
In any case, this level of creative partnership inside a US park is really unprecedented in so many ways, so it's hard to say what that'll mean in terms of how well everyone will get along and how all it will affect deadlines.
Personally, I'd rather see them delay it and get it right than rush ans get it wrong. I can wait an extra year for something awesome. But I don't want to spend the rest of my life visiting an attraction that isn't awesome.
