Anybody going to DL for Halloween?

We are going Oct 7-11. This will be our first Halloween trip as well. I am also curious about the Halloween party if any other members would care to enlighten me/us on this fabulous event. pirate:

I did a Google search and found a thread from last years event. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1599910 It certainly sounds like a lot of fun! DH suggested we book a character meal but after learning about this, we'll skip the character meal and do this instead!

Hi, just wondering if anybody will be at "The Happiest Place on Earth" in October? If so, when in October? And, have you ever been in October before?

Brandy
YES!!! Halloween is my favorite holiday, even above Christmas. LOL And we were there last year at the end of October, and will be going back this year as well.

The parks are decorated in such a wonderful way. They really do a good job.

For those of you looking for more info on that time of year at Disneyland here is a link you can check out: http://www.wdwinfo.com/Disneyland/Events/Halloween.htm

An absolute must do at that time of year is the Haunted Mansion Holiday. The entire ride is redone with a Nightmare Before Christmas theme. It's great.

Let me see if I can find a few pics I can share from last October.....

If anyone is interested, here are just a few we took last Oct. It's really a fun time to be there, but it is becoming a more crowded time as well.

I love the pictures, thank you so much for sharing them, mommau4. Thank you for the link, as well! We were at DL in December 2006 and rode HM with the TNBC overlay! I loved it and I'm no fan of the movie (although DH and DS are huge fans of the movie)!! I am stoked it will be up and running while we visit in October because I really want to ride it a few times to take it all in!!!

My oldest DD will be there with her Marching Band! They are going to be there on Nov 1st or 2nd. Are the Halloween decorations still going to be up?

She is VERY excited and a tad bit spoiled to be going 2 times in one year!!

She's excited...I could have volunteered to chaperone, but the thought of all those teens... :scared1: !!!!! :rotfl:

Although I have been there in October, I have never been there the day after Halloween to see if anything is different. I have been told though that when you go into the park the day after Halloween, it was almost like it never happened. The giant pumpkin on Main St. is gone and the giant Christmas tree is up! I dont know for sure as I have not witnessed this myself, this is just what I was told.

Somebody on here asked what Mickeys Halloween treat was like. It is so much fun. They have trick or treating stands through the park, and they load up the bags too! They have various dance parties, they have some games, all the villian characters come out ranging from Hook, Jafar, the Evil Queen, the Old Hag, Lady Tremaine (evel stepmother), Drizella, Anastacia (sp?), Cruella, and cant remember the evil guys name from Meet the Robinsons, but saw him last year as well!! There were tons of them all hanging out around Golden Dreams, which is also redone for the season (Dont know if it is already closed though for the upcoming Little Mermaid attraction). They also had a very small, and IMHO, a very boring parade, I think there was like 1 float. They should definately have done a parade with the villians in it!!

They should definately have done a parade with the villians in it!!
Now that would be awesome!! I love the villians!

On a side note, at WDW for the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the start of the Boo to You parade, they have (or at least used to have) the headless horsemen gallop down the parade route. Very cool. Here's a pic of it. (not my pic, just one I found online)

October is great! Halloween decorations, good weather, and the crowds aren't bad.

It is great. But now I'm thinking maybe we shouldn't tell everyone that! Then it will become more crowded then it's already getting to be. ;)

Umm, yeah, Halloween at Disneyland sucks. Stay home everyone. :rolleyes1

;)

We will be there from October 20th-25th. And no, we have never been in October before.
Loving all the pictures! They're making me super excited (not that I nee any help! lol)!! Thanks for posting them!

I went the last week of October 2007 and it was really fun. The decorations are great and everything is so festive. We went to Mickey's Halloween Treat, and the trick or treating around DCA was amazing. My DD was 3, and she loved meeting all the villians and everything. The crowds weren't bad, but we also went when the LA fires were going on, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it.

I was there last Oct. (19th-22nd) for my first trip. We only went to the parks on Sat. and Sun. and it was crowded! The weather was beautiful, though - mid to upper 70s. Here are some more pictures:

Have fun - I wish I could go back this fall!

The Big Guys will be arriving in Calee-for-nya Oct 24 and will be in DLR the 25th 27th and 28th. Hope to do the Treat on the 25th. The World famous UtahMama will be meeting us there, so there should be trip reports aplenty.
I've done MNSSHP at WDW and in spite of torrential rains, it was great. With the superior weather at DL it should be great.

yep just bought my ticket for the newly called Mickeys Trick or Treat Party...they are doing it somewhat different this year and offering discounts only for certain days...Thank God the day Im going is one of those days...

I need to call tomorrow about my tix. I know there wont be any discounts for mine, unless they offer a CM discount, but I dont think they do. I think I read on another thread though that the day I am going tix are only available the day of the party, Oct. 31. Does that sound right? I know last year when we ordered our that date was available for advance purchase.

So excited!!:goodvibes

It's just AP holders who can buy at the moment, right?
Does anyone have an idea how long it usually takes until the public sale starts once the AP sale has begun?

I'm leaving for vacation in three weeks, and I am kind of reluctant to entrust my boyfriend with booking something important as these tickets. ;)

October 31st was definitely available for pre-booking last year. I kind of like the idea to have an emergency backup with buying on the day only for that date though in case boyfriend screws up. :lmao:

Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to share some information. :)

I just got off the phone and the Disney ticketing line confirmed to me that at the moment only AP holders can book tickets. I was a little confused after reading some posts here and on other forums.

However, the nice lady I spoke to took pity on me because I was calling from overseas and told me that at the moment the planned start date for general ticket sales is August 1.

We went last October and the weather was beautiful and the lines were minimal. The decor was sooooo cute and the Haunted Mansion overlay is amazing. Also the pumpkin fudge is so good that time of year. Have fun.

That is correct, ticket sales to the general public begin August 1. I called today to order mine, but have to call back tomorrow becuase I have to pay with my Disney Visa (I had to make a payment, I maxed my card out :sad2: ). You can purchse tickets now only if you have an AP a Disney Visa. I am so excited!!
