Anybody ever had any major problems with AVIS?

Have always used Hertz or National, but the best rate I am getting is with Avis. Just want to make sure I will get the same service as with the others. I know they are a reputable company and advertise to "try harder". Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

I went to that page and when it asked for my drivers license number and credit card info, I stopped. Just wondered if I am reserving a vehicle at the same time I am signing up. If not, I may not use the same credit card in the future so I just wondered if it makes a difference which one I sign up with? My hubby does not like to put our credit card numbers on the web so I had planned to just call when I get ready to reserve. Thanks..

BC,
They ask for your credit-card info because you don't stop at the counter when you pick up your car. And, yes, the card number you give them is the one that they'll charge.
If you're uneasy about putting your card number on the Web, maybe call them and see if you can mail it in on a form or give it to them over the phone?
Best,
TapCat

Does anyone know if the rates are better online versus calling or have you found them to always be the same?

On the last rental I did it was cheaper on the net then calling. And about entering 'sensitive' information on the web, ALWAYS make sure that you have a secure session, there will be a little glod padlock icon on the bottom status line of your browser, is it's not there don't enter it (also the URL will start with HTTPS vs. HTTP).

I have used Avis (picking up in Tampa, returning in Orlando). I got a good rate using a coupon from Sam's club. I did sign up for the preferred service, but noticed not a single person in the regular line inside, and 2 people in front of me at the counter in the hot, humid garage. I waited there anyway and it went quickly and we got upgraded. Return at MCO went smoothly and my bill was correct.

Avis is our corporate rental company, therefore I use them about every three weeks. In prior years we did have Hertz. I wouls say Avis is superior. Always get what I want, cars are impeccibly clean, and serice is super.

Disney drop off is at Hilton in DTD, just as easy as going to the car care center.

You should realyy be sure to have Avis preferred before you go. There is nothing like wlaking off the plane and walking into your waiting car. Typically, the car will be running, with the trunk and driver's door open and waiting. (The Avis bus, calls in when they hit the lot, and they prep the Preferred cars at that point). Talk about luxury !!!

I thought that Avis was on Airport property at MCO so that you didn't need t take a bus.

Yes, Avis is in the parking garage at MCO. I think what he meant when it's off site the Avis bus will drop you off at your car in their lot.
