Anybody else wish there was a Starbucks at Disney?

Now, I totally relate to that comment. I find Starbucks coffee to be an insipid brew that tastes of very little. If I want good coffee in Orlando I have a press pot at Kona or visit Starring Rolls or Writer's Stop. Long may Starbucks stay away from WDW!

True true! The only time I disagree with this is the straight month I live on Pumpkin Lattes at Starbucks. I find a reason to go every single day. The back to my Timmies!!

Again a good cup of coffee also depends on the water. The water in central Florida is terrible. No matter what the brand unless you have decent water the brand on the coffee won't matter. By the way Tim Horton's maybe from Canada..but they roast there beans in the U.S.A. in Rochester N.Y.:cool1:

Only about 30% are roasted in NY - about 40-45% are now roasted in Hamilton ON since 2009 :thumbsup2

Yes. I'm a nerd. :rotfl:

True, and as another poster said, the water does make a difference. Maybe that's why I love my Timmy's here (awesome water) but it didn't taste even close to the same in Ohio :confused3

Maybe they give the US the cheaper knock off coffee :rotfl:

We have local water. Winnipeg gets theirs from Shoal Lake (Ontario too!). I've had Timmies in Alberta, British Columbia, Sask, Ontario, MB... all tastes the same. And I'm a Timmies snob.

I've stopped at that cart several times and have been happy with my drinks. I also had a decent nonfat vanilla latte from a cart between the UK and Canada in the World Showcase.

We are a $20 a DAY Timmies family -- and thats two adults.
I can't believe that after all these years, there still ISN'T a Tims in the Canada Pavilion at Epcot. We all know that there would be a HUGE line up of Canucks waiting for thier Tims fix :) Gimme 2 Extra large Double Double and 10 Timbits please!!!

As per Starbucks, i do find their coffee very burnt and bitter. It leaves a sour aftertaste for me as well. Tims is smooth...

I wish WDW served the same coffee everywhere onsite! Either Starbucks, Seattles Best or the coffee used at Kona Cafe.

Is the only Starbucks around the resort area in the dolphin? is there one anywhere around the outlying areas?

There's a Starbucks on 535, South of The Crossroads Shopping Center... kinda across from the Vistiana...

No... I don't wish there was a Starbucks, but i DO wish there was a Tim Hortons.

What am I going to do for 9 days without my Timmy's?? :confused3

:rotfl: We have friends in Montreal and all they talk about is Tim Hortons and how good the coffee is. Never gone but We Love Cora's. Love their English Cream with the Fruit. Yummy!

What's ya'lls drinks at Star$$?Summer I have a iced decaf 6 shot Americano w/mocha and hazelnut syrup, splenda and skim milk.Winter we enter the exciting world of pumpkin and mint mochas. They are 2.95 to 3.45 and a $1 tip for 24oz of coffee and chocolatey goodness.... about what I pay for bottled water in WDW.

Maybe that's why we have great Tim's, we're in Buffalo. So we probably get the "good beans" & we're all drinking Lake Erie water! ;)

All you had to do was stand outside the hospital I work at in the morning. 75% of the staff would come in with Timmie's cups. Work finally got smart & opened a stand inside. Agree about Starbuck's tasting burned, tooo.

Once again, I am showing up late to the party. I have a location to add for those who can venture off property toward Universal. It's on I-drive and is called Bad A** Coffee. It is wonderful! I tried it last year thanks to listening to Kevin on the Podcast. I adore iced latte's and they make them oh so yummy. The ice cubes are frozen coffee. I had one on the first day and took two with me for the drive home.

We bring our Keurig. It travels beautifully and enables us to have really good coffee on vacation. We even bring to-go cups with coffee lids so we can leave the room with them in the mornings.

I just can't justify the expense of Starbucks, even at home. The cost of a dozen or so froo-froo coffees from Starbucks pays for a Keurig.

Disney coffee is just all kinds of nastiness for the most part. I've had some good tea at Jiko.

my hubby won't let me bring my Keurig. I have tried. I thought I was the only one that attached to my Keurig. Have noted a Starbucks at Dolphin in case of emergency coffee fix.

I've thought about bringing a Keurig with us, but I figure it would cost too much to ship down. I do miss my Tully's while we are on vacation, but with all the baby stuff we ship down I can't imagine the added cost of adding the Keurig to the box.

If you already have access to hot water in the room (like if there's a microwave), get an Aeropress. It's very small and makes a fantastic cup of coffee. It's not electric -- you need to add hot water to it -- so that's the only catch.

I have 5 Tims within a 5 minute drive, plus the cafe at our hospital is now managed by Tims as well as two gas stations that have drive thru Tim windows :) My Corporate office even has a Tims in it (this is an office of 2500 employees) to discourage us from going offsite for Tims at the end of the street :)

part of the mundane world outside the gates and offers nothing truly unique. Same with Kroger, Dunkin' Donuts, Hallmark, Old Navy, Cracker Barrel, etc.

..........McDONALDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I avoid their carts like the plague and tell everybody in our group "there's no McD's at WDW".

Steve

I agree with the coffee bar in the Polynesian. The coffee is good and the pastries are really tasty. Also you could get the Kona press at Kona Cafe. Yum! I haven't tried the coffee press at Boma yet, but I intend to!

I like the 100% Kona at the Poly but the best Kona isn't even close to a good Kenyan. Get to Boma on your next visit.

Kona doesn't cost $20 - $30/LB because it tastes great, it's supply and demand.

Steve

starbucks hopefully never, as when given the chance they refused to send some to the troops overseas.

You are correct, there's no McD's at WDW. They are all gone, including the one at Downtown Disney. There is one stand-alone McD's at W Buena Vista Dr and Osceola Parkway, near Disney All-Stars Resorts. It has been newly remodeled and looks very nice. :)
