Anybody else wish there was a Starbucks at Disney?

The Dolphin (and the Swan) sell Starbucks coffee in their restaurants, but they do not have a Starbucks outlet at which you can order Starbucks specialty drinks.

In the Animal Kingdom, you have the Royal Anandapur Tea Company. They have Hot or Iced Coffee, Double Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Flavored Latte (Hot or Iced), and literally dozens of different types of teas!

:thumbsup2 This place is great! I had an amazing tea drink there years ago, but I can never remember what kind it was.

I like good coffee. So I don't go to Starbucks.

I don't really understand this comment...

Do you not like Pike Place Roast? You're not really alone there. But to imply that Starbucks doesn't have good coffee is, er...well, wrong. They do have good coffee, and if you don't like a particular roast, try another one. Or get a barista to make you a press pot. Or tell the lazy baristas to check the shot timer on their espresso bars. ;)

Anyway.

As another poster said, both the ice via and the regular via are pretty decent. The iced via is a good deal right now, b/c you can get 5 grande cups for $5. Woot! It's pre-sweetened, so you can just add it to your bottle of water and go. :thumbsup2

I love the tea pavilion at AK, but I usually just get tea. :)

Is the only Starbucks around the resort area in the dolphin? is there one anywhere around the outlying areas?

There are several in Orlando. If you go to the Starbucks website, there's a store locator feature. Also, if you have a smartphone (BlackBerry, Android, iPhone, etc) you can get the Where app for free. It has a Starbucks locator on it. There's also a "Find Starbucks" app for many of those phones, but I prefer Where b/c it does a whole lot of other stuff, too. :cutie:

1) Please.
2) No Starbucks.
3) I go to Disney to get away from the world.
4) I don't want commercially available, overpriced coffee.
5) I can get overpriced coffee already at Disney.

I love that people are saying that they only want what Disney offers in order to escape from the real world. Nescafe is sadly available outside of Disney too.

This problem is even worse if you're a tea drinker! It's all muck with only a few exceptions. I treat myself to one or two chai lattes while on vacation and only Starbucks makes those right.

Thanks everyone for all the great coffee ideas! We are staying at the BLT in December so I will plan to bring my own coffee to brew (and plan to head over to the Poly to try the Kona coffee), but on those warmer days, I like my occasional frozen Frappucino :)

Thanks to the poster who mentioned the Iced Via from Starbucks - I forgot about those!

I wouldn't mind if Disney bought their coffee from Starbucks, because I like their coffee. But I don't want to see a Starbucks, or a McDonalds, or any other outside world presence in WDW.

What about in Downtown Disney? There are other non-Disney places there so that could be a good compromise.

Bravo!

Instead of "fourbucks" at Disney, Starbucks would probably be "eightbucks"

For that I'll go get the $7.50 presspot at Kona.

Since when is it "wrong" to dislike something? Clearly, I'm not alone here. I have tried several different types of cups at Starbucks, and have not enjoyed any of them. I'm not in the habit of going into a place I haven't enjoyed repeatedly just to make sure I try everything on the menu of convince the baristas to make a better cup just for me.

Starbucks does not have good coffee. It's not wrong. It's my taste, opinion and wallet and I think I'm entitled to it.

agree 100%...the only "good" coffee I've had at Starbucks actually tasted more like a milkshake...because it had more flavor & milk/cream than coffee. I've had at least a 1/2 dozen diff varieties of Starbucks coffee (plain) and thought they all tasted either charred or severe bitter aftertaste. Did not care for that at all. And I LOVE dark roast coffee, so it's not that I don't like the full bodied coffees...to me it's just Starbucks processing kills the stuff.
But lots of people think it's great, so to each his own.:thumbsup2

If you are wanting a Starbuck. The closest on that I have found is at the Target over by Animal Kingdom..

I am not a huge fan of Starbucks coffee. And would not like to see it at Disney. :sad2:

I also agree with PPs that you should check out Kona's fresh pressed pot of coffee and Royal Anandapur Tea Company. We also enjoy the coffee at Boma. :thumbsup2

No... I don't wish there was a Starbucks, but i DO wish there was a Tim Hortons.

What am I going to do for 9 days without my Timmy's?? :confused3

If you don't have a coffeemaker in your room, bring an Aeropress (and your own beans). It's simple, light, small, and makes a great cup of coffee.

Wow, some snarky comments here. I don't understand the attitude about Starbucks when WDW serves the stuff they do at most places. It's from 'outside' too but no one seems to see that...

My info may be outdated, but as of January 2009 there was a Starbucks in Shades of Green, the resort for military members near the Polynesian.

There is a coffee kiosk in the Contemporary downstairs. I believe it's called Contemporary Grounds. Just ask a CM there where it is. I've seen it a few times but havent had a chance to try it. It's is real brewed coffee though!! :)

Here is the menu from allears:
