Does anyone know if there is a specialty coffee place (something like a Starbucks) anywhere at Disney?

Thanks!

I wish there was a Starbucks not for the coffee, but because they have free WiFi.

The instant iced Via is pretty good, I plan on taking several with me when I go. I've heard the regular Via is pretty good as well.

Disney does almost everything perfectly. The only two things they get wrong are pizza (yuck) and coffee (Nescafe' = awful). The alternative to pizza is to order from offsite. The alternative to bad Nescafe' coffee at Disney is to find a good coffee cart, or to venture out of the parks to a resort.

In the Animal Kingdom, you have the Royal Anandapur Tea Company. They have Hot or Iced Coffee, Double Espresso, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Flavored Latte (Hot or Iced), and literally dozens of different types of teas!

Kona coffee stand right inside by the monorail at the Poly has better coffee than Starbucks ;)

All (or I should say MOST) sit down restaurants have 'real' brewed coffee. There's also a few real coffee stands in each park...you just have to hunt them down. There's one by Mission Space in Epcot.

This page has the locations of real coffee in WDW. The presspot at Boma is my favorite but I try to make it to the Swan/Dolphin before my Epcot or DHS days or Kona before my MK days to get something real in the morning before entering the parks.

I like good coffee. So I don't go to Starbucks.

That said, most of the coffee at Disney stinks. I like the Joffrey's cart outside of Animal Kingdom, but usually I bring my own.

Not really. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy going to Starbucks, but part of the reason I love Disney World so much is because it's a total escape from the real world. A Starbucks in Disney World would have the benefit of a familiar selection, but it would mar the magical experience for me. Starbucks is most decidedly a part of the mundane world outside the gates and offers nothing truly unique. Same with Kroger, Dunkin' Donuts, Hallmark, Old Navy, Cracker Barrel, etc.

Is the only Starbucks around the resort area in the dolphin? is there one anywhere around the outlying areas?

Me me me....... Did I say me! There are mornings when I just can't stand the resort coffee anymore and need a chai latte or a skinny dulce de leche latte!!!!!

Pretty subjective topic but my 2cents.
WDW coffe is varnish remover and the hot chocolate tastes like drippings from a rag used to clean the counter after Hersheys syrup spilled.

I'd love a Starbucks or any other chain to take over Discoffee cause Nescafe is yuck. The place I want coffee is not after my signature dinner but on my way in the park and while waiting for fireworks or a show.

I couldn't have said it better;)
I also hear that the Contemporary has a pretty good coffee shop! Looking to try it out very soon!

I agree with the coffee bar in the Polynesian. The coffee is good and the pastries are really tasty. Also you could get the Kona press at Kona Cafe. Yum! I haven't tried the coffee press at Boma yet, but I intend to!

Nope don't wish there was a Starbucks - it's great to go to WDW to try things you can't at home... plus I don't drink coffee lol

While I've always agreed that Disney Coffee is the worst, I dislike Starbucks too.

All ears does have a list where you can get the real thing. Each year the list seems to grow. I only buy Kona coffee for home so I'm a hard person to please when it comes to coffee.

We bring our Keurig. It travels beautifully and enables us to have really good coffee on vacation. We even bring to-go cups with coffee lids so we can leave the room with them in the mornings.

I just can't justify the expense of Starbucks, even at home. The cost of a dozen or so froo-froo coffees from Starbucks pays for a Keurig.

Disney coffee is just all kinds of nastiness for the most part. I've had some good tea at Jiko.

Meh... have never been all that impressed by Starbucks charred/burnt coffee.

For brewed coffee at WDW, the pressed pot Kona available at the Poly is our fave. I haven't tried the coffee at AKL yet, but have heard it is quite respectable also.

I need to admit that our family could be considered 'coffee snobs' though. We purchase select micro-lots of single origin coffee beans, custom roast them ourselves in very small batches for peak freshness, and only grind the minimum amount needed when we are ready to brew the next pressed pot. Home roasted coffees not only taste fantastic... but I can purchase a pound of top quality green beans (from most origins) for about the same price as a single cup of coffee from Starbucks.

When we travel, I will roast & grind about a week's worth of coffee in advance, package in air tight containers, then slip that and a smallish press pot into our luggage so we can brew good coffee in our resort room.

For anyone who doesn't have the equip to home roast, but wants to try some excellent fresh roasted coffees, I can highly recommend Marlton Coffee in NJ. Easy to order from Greg online (he has an awesome Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend) -- take the coffee along with you to WDW, and brew a fresh pot in your resort room each AM. :thumbsup2
