Early 70's. It would start out with kids aboard a Magic Carpet with a Wizard to
go to the Kingdom of could be you ,basically a show about helping kids to
think about what they want to be when they grow up.

Had a Disney feel as if you were going to Fantasyland.

The Kingdom of Could be You opening was something like "There's a Farmer,Could be You,There's a Teacher, Could be You,
Quarterback ,Lumberjack ,Could be You, Butcher ,Baker ,Dressmaker,
Could be You"

Felt like a Disney production even though it wasn't. Watched it as a kid early am '74-'75. For YEARS could not remember anything about it.Hoping and Praying someday I could remember that cartoon I loved as a kid. Then last year I'm reading some reviews of programs at jumptheshark.com and in
the discussion of another rare and forgotten childhood cartoon, The Most
Important Person, someone mentions..........Kingdom of Could be You.

Hoping there's some others out there who may have seen this and forgotten about it and that I can bring back the memory for you.

Must mention it wasn't a complete cartoon but had live footage of adults at their jobs as well.

(won't be suprised though not to get too many responses ,rare cartoon did not air for long)

I remember, I remember! I just don't remember any part of it being a cartoon. I remember the jingle "Could be you, could be you", but it was all real people. I thought that it came on in between shows (like the Schoolhouse Rock stuff).

Thank You PrincessPumpkin. Thanks to you one post is better than none.
I figured I could find at leat one.

Could be You started out as a cartoon as it opened with kids riding on the magic carpet with the Wizard, then would switch to regular footage with
the Wizard and kids doing voiceovers about the different vocations in life they were witnessing. Then it would end with cartoon footage of Wizard and kids.

The Most Important Person is what came on in between shows like School House Rock, educational cartoon shorts with kids and a Green Ostrich named Fumble among other characters.

Impossible is Nothing. Couldn't agree more Princess.

I also liked "THe most important person".

Oh sure, that cute theme song played over happy kids at play,

"The Most Important Person in the whole wide world is you,
and you hardly even know you
The Most Important Person in the whole wide world is you,
c'mon we'll show you
To find out more about the things you feel and do
'cause you're The Most Important Person in the world to you"

I totally remember TKOCBY and TMIP. They used to play them on our local early morning kids show. The theme songs were catchy and the stories were fun. I looked forward to watching them before school. :)

What are they doing under the sea?
Could be you, could be me!
What are they doin' over there?
Why not stop and see - e - e
Look at all of these
posibilities.
Lots of wonderful things to do,
so let's begin
to see what's in
the Kingdom of Could Be You!

As I remember, the opening was the best part of the show. I loved the wizard character and the fantasy flight.
