Anybody else having trouble getting OUT of the DIS?

I'm not a techie, so I don't know WHY, but I have been having problems exiting the DIS, or moving from one DIS board to another.

I'm using Chrome, and I get an interminable message "Resolving host..." and the website does absolutely nothing. It's been "Resolving host" for more than 10 minutes now. Every other website in the universe works instantly. I do NOT have a slow connection.

I know any site can freeze up occasionally, but this happens consistently with the DIS, before and after the recent server change. Usually, to go from one thread to another I have to either wait for a LONG time, or X out of my browser and go back in wherever I wanted to go.
 
I am on a work Internet Explorer browser and keep having issues changing and going back to the previous page since the upgrade. I do not encounter this issue from my home pc using IE.
 
Very likely you have malware or some other problem. I would consult my local PC support folks.
 

No issues on chrome either at home, work or on my mobile.
 
No problems getting out using Chrome or Safari on my mobile or Chrome on my PC. But lots of problems with redirects to the App Store or various advertising websites on my mobile, worse some days than others.
 
Spoke too soon! Happened to me last night - had to shut down my iPhone completely.

Having so many redirects to ads already and now this - if it happens again I may have to stop reading DIS on my phone. Worried about withdrawal! :cold:
 
FWIW, "Resolving Host" is on "your" end. That's when the IP Gets looked up so you can get to the DIS. Probably your ISP's DNS Servers. Technical jargon to say that 90% of the time, this is a MALWARE or virus problem on your PC, especially if you know your internet connection is "good."

The other 10% of the time, there are probably a 100 things it could be that are beyond the scope of this thread (Yes, I've done this for a living for 30 years.).

Reboot first. Clear your browser's cache (Google is your friend.). Try again. If still, run Malware Bytes (malwarebytes.org). IF it finds ANYHTING, buy the RETAIL version and install it and run it again. You are WASTING your time trying to kill whatever it is with the freeware version. If that's not it, you're likely going to need professional help.
 
No problems for me on PC, just on iPhone 6. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry. I don't know. I use Chrome almost exclusively on my iDevices I and have never noticed any problems, but in the interest of full disclosure, most of what I do here I wait until I'm sitting at one of my desktops/laptops.

Me, too! I love Chrome - no issues with anything since I started using it.

I am amazed at the number of posters who seem to surf the DIS using a tablet or phone. I HATE typing on those things. I find it to be almost impossible to do cut & paste operations or post links - a necessity for me when I'm actively moderating or replying to a thread.
