Yes, only 50 days to go so I'm starting a diet so I can be more energetic and have loose-fitting clothes for DW. Isn't this just silly? I mean, I've made how many PSs and have my counter service places chosen. Just wondered if anyone else was in the same mind-set. :earsgirl:

i was down to my pre-baby weight before our last trip, and it felt SO good (i had been dieting for almost a year!). then we hit wdw in early nov., then thanksgiving, then christmas, and all of the sudden i'm 12 lbs heavier!!!!

i started up again on a diet 2 weeks ago (lost 3.5 lbs so far) and my goal is now 8 lbs. in these last 8 weeks (we leave end of april). THIS time down there, i will NOT eat like a pig....i know i can enjoy all of the food without a weight gain if i just show an ounce of restraint (but i'm making sure to save enough calories to fit a margarita and mickey ice cream ears into every day's diet plan!!!)

GOOD LUCK! and have a great time!

yes I am doing the same thing last time i lost 10 pounds before i went and i was glad because i put on 8 before i got home so net gain of 2 and i eat what i wanted when i was there. :rotfl:

I just started March 1st for our May trip. Not only will we be at WDW for a few days but also on the Wonder for 4 nights. The thought of beaches, swimming suits, cover-ups and just generally lots of skin showing, made me make the decision to shed a few. Also they talk about how much food there is on the ship, and that combined with the ressies I have made already, I NEED to lose to make sure I don't go home several pounds over! One other big bonus, you'll look so much BETTER in all of the pictures you'll be taking!!!!

Have a great trip and good luck losing the weight you want!

I had joined Weight Watchers on Dec. 30th and we went to WDW on Jan. 26th....for a week. I ate what I wanted..where I wanted and with all the walking...I only gained 1 pound..and then the very next week I lost 2.8. I had to weigh in two days after we returned so I think I did GREAT. You do so much walking it all comes out in the wash so to speak.

please join the threads over on the WISH boards if you havent done so already
they helped tremendously when I was getting to my goal weight (lost 45lbs!)

Yes, I want to lose 26 pounds before our trip in July so I will feel better and the clothes will be more confortable.

:rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm dieting now, so I can pig out then

I actually lost 5lbs on our trip last year!
I just ate normally and "splurged" ie: pigged out on one meal a day.
Must be all the walking.

Anytime is always a good time to lose extra weight.
Never give up and never surrender!
Good luck!

9 months till our trip. i've lost 19 in the past 4 1/2 weeks, and i have a whopping 131 still to lose... not necessarily all before the trip, but whatever i can accomplish by then will be great. i'm just so looking forward to being able to physically enjoy our trip without being wiped out!

Well I'm in good company! I have 8 weeks until we go at the end of April and I'm exercising everyday (so I can keep up at DW!!) and JUST started a diet so I can try and lose 10 pounds. Man, this is going to be a hard first week - maybe I'll put a Disney picture on my refrigerator for extra motivation! Good luck to everyone!!!!

I'm with you! I started March 1st. Our trip is only a month away, but I'm trying to eat better to lose some weight plus trying to get in some WALKING every day, so I'll be ready for the parks! :cool1:

I leave in a week... and I want to lose 4 lbs before I go... if I exercise and don't change my eating at all I can lose it... I am trying to exercise and eat well this week, for next week... I get to try

1. Sake and Kimono's, to help me sing better when I decide which Bobby Darrin or Neil Diamond song I want to sing :-0
2. My not-so-famous Waffle With Every Kind of Candy And Other Junk Food Imaginable at the Character buffet
3. Hot Dog and Cheese Fries from Casey's Corner
4. Pollo from Bongo's
and

5. THE KITCHEN SINK!

OH YEAH!

I dropped about 25 lbs in the 4 months before our WDW trip last June...wish I could say I've kept it all off, but...! One thing I found to be as important as losing some extra poundage was to WALK before leaving. I think building up my strength and indurance was as important to my comfort as shedding a few pounds. Honestly, I was worried that all that walking in the hot June Florida sun would give me a heart attack...not really a joke!

Yep, my husband & I started last Thursday (the last Thurs in Feb 05) & I have lost 4-5 lbs since then & he lost around 5-7 lbs.

We are both over weight & he wants to lose about 30 lbs before we go (and then another 20 there after) & I want to lose as much as I can before we go since I have about 60 lbs to go but I am taking it 1 lb at a time.

We go in July so I am sure we will both lose alot before then & I have picked up running on the treadmill at least 5 days a week & running makes me lose easily. And then there will be our bike rides this summer with the kids.

And yes I want to be thinner for pictures too. I was looking at my 2002 pictures last week & that put me in the motion to lose weight.

I'm with the rest of you. I have about 25 pounds to lose total. I'll be happy if I can get rid of at least 15 by the end of May. I just signed up for the March 5 lb. weight challenge over on the WISH board to keep me motivated. :flower:

My best advice is to walk, walk, walk before you go ... in addition to your diet. I have always gone with the idea that I am on vacation from real life, so no dieting when I am in Disney World. But there is sooooo much walking while you are there, that I have always managed to burn off whatever extra I am consuming. But if you are not conditioned for all that walking, your feet and legs will be so sore after a couple of days, it could slow you down for the rest of your trip.

Good luck on the diet! :cheer2:

I'm starting tomorrow! ;)

No, REALLY, I am. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I at least have to lose the extra holiday poundage and fit into last summers clothing, LOL :teeth:

Also dieting here. Lost 14 lbs so far since middle of January. Trying to lose another 18 before our trip April 16-23. I will not be dieting in Disney though.

That is such good advice! Maybe with enough walking, I won't have to diet so much. I'm going to dust off the treadmill right now. :teeth:
