Anybody else feeling ripped off by TGM?

As of Dec Tusker House started offering a Nemo package similar to the F! dinner package ~ eat in their new TS and you get reserved seating for NEmo.
You have to have ADRS between 1-1:40 and you see the 3:45 show. I heard now they have extending the times and the later show as well due to the popularity

Pixie Hollow in in the Judges tent where the princesses used to be. There you can meet tink and all of her fairy friends. IT IS SUPER POPULAR and the line can be over 90 minutes long. If you do a search on the DIS for it there are some great photos! I am just not sure the post that had them

Ok I have 2 boys so no Pixie Hollow for us (thank goodness!! :rotfl2:). As far as Tusker House, we are hoping to do that for breakfast so I guess no special Nemo package for us. We saw the Lion King show 2 years ago and tried to do Nemo last year but it just never worked out for some reason.

Also, not to beat a dead horse....:)......like I said, I have gotten loads of good advice off of his site and in general, I like it. But TSMM is not on the "attractions" page. When you are setting up your touring plan, you are picking from the attractions that your family wants to see. Now, for me, this isn't a big deal at all because this will be my fourth trip with him. I know where to go to get the info. But someone new coming in might be confused. I just don't understand why the biggest attraction at DHS isn't there.

I don't use that section of the AVP (I think the AVP is the part of the site I use the LEAST :rotfl:), so it took me a bit to figure out what you were referring to. It definitely should be listed in the AVP. (I clicked to add it from the TSMM description page, so I'm trusting here that it doesn't come up on its own...I don't know how to reset everything to check.)

ETA: NEVERMIND! I'm really not sure about this so please disregard my comment above. I tried playing around, and when I selected a park for my AVP that wasn't previously there (AK), it doesn't list ANY attractions unless I go to each attraction's description page and add them, OR, look at Mike's recommended list and add from there (TSMM is on Mike's recommended list on the AVP). From that, I can only conclude that TSMM is available for the AVP the same as all the other attractions. I'm a little confused and thinking maybe we're looking at different things. ??? We need a video conference to figure it out, lol!

ETA again: It's verified further down that yes, TSMM is added to the AVP. THANKS!

TSM is on the attractions page. It may not be on yours if you set up your AVP before it was added. You would need to manually add it at this point- but anyone new to the site would definitely have it in their attractions.

I was messing around with touring plans and he doesn't even have TOY STORY listed as a ride nor any info about Toy Story. That ride opened up in 2008, right??? I went on it in Sept. 2008, so it's been months and months with no update. :confused3 I would be upset if I planned a touring plan for DHS and got there to realize that TSM was a HUGE part of a good touring plan and I hadn't known about it.

I have also subscribed to this service, and was suprised that it makes no reference to the existance of either laugh floor comedy club or the more recent pixie hollow Like you said above, i think I would feel a bit miffed if I had not known they exisited until actually in the park - you would expect for these attractions to be included on TGM's attraction list wouldn't you? It has raised alarm bells for me as to how often he updates his service?

Something else that it is lacking is the automated dining phone trick he explains...
way way outdated....

if someone didn't know better that could easily cost them a table at CRT....

As usual this thread is getting ridiculous. Those that have formed their opinions about TGM whether thru personal experience with the site or not will continue to bash. Those that find it an invaluable resource at a very small fraction of the cost of their entire Disney vacation will continue to explain to others how and why their complaints are mostly invalid or exaggerated.

I completely, wholeheartedly disagree. This thread is not getting ridiculous. Rather, as is usual, there are more people who find TGM to be a poor service than those that don't. Those of us who are here for information sharing would appreciate if you kept the sarcasm out of your comments.

Just to be clear - not addressing anything else but the TSM thing, because it keeps coming up (and yes, there are some other things that are not updated as others have posted). Toy Story Mania IS listed in the DHS attractions and if you check the box for it when creating your AVP (or add it later), it will be added to your list of attractions. There ARE 2 very detailed articles written about it - one about the attraction, and one with multiple approaches to touring DHS and hitting it with all the other headliners. As far as I know, the ONLY place it doesn't show up is in the "sample" plans.

I think someone else already said this, but the TGM site isn't really about the sample plans. If it was just about that, it would be the touringplans site, I guess! :) TSM is more of an online book, meant to (1) teach touring strategies, and (2) give descriptions of the vast majority of attractions, shows, restaurants, resorts, resort activities, etc., with (3) forums that are specifically designed to support TGM's philosophy of touring, and (4) recommendations on what days to do what parks. That's what you get for your $20.

A lot of people, though, sign up, look at the best days charts and then look at the sample tours and not much else. Then, they complain that TSM isn't included (IMO, I actually think TGM should ditch the sample plans altogether, because I don't think most people understand that they're best used as a starting point for customizing your own plan and I don't think a lot of people want to create their own plan). I really don't recommend TGM ever if someone is just looking for canned plans on what order to do the attractions in - it's not really intended for that. If that's what you want, TGM isn't really a good fit for you.

Just my $.22 cents, it's well worth the $20, IF you're looking for what it offers. If you're not, then it's not going to work for you whether it $2 or $200 - if you're not happy, ask for your money back.

The site is not perfect by any means, but none of the Disney advice sites are - pay or free, they all have some issues with updates and the like.

I gave up on TGM a couple trips ago. Like others, I found too much outdated info & missing attractions. That alone removed all confidence I had in the remaining content on TGM.

If there's that much blatantly out of date content, how much other content/advice there is outdated, and not as obvious? I'm not willing to risk planning my vacation around it.

Agree with this 100%. There is just no excuse for this site to have any attractions missing - especially attractions that opened last year!

If 'Mike' or whoever manages this service can add park hours when they are released, suely they can add attractions when they are opened?

I think you have an axe to grind with 2ndstar because he/she pointed out in a prior TGM bashing thread that you couldn't count backwards 90 days from your arrival date.

Actually I am pretty sure there are hundreds of satisfied TGM users compared to the very small number of unsatisfied customers. The same 5 or 6 of you are just very outspoken whenever a TGM thread pops up over here.

As has been proven- in your case (bashing TGM and complaining about Mike causing you to miss your ADR window when it hadn't even arrived yet) and in this OP's complaint- the problems usually stem from lack of comprehension, inability to use or lack of effort put into learning how to use the site properly and false expectations of what the site does or doesn't do.

I think it is hilarious how defensive some people get about TGM. I think it's pretty simple to say some people love it, some don't. Personally, I'll never pay for it again. I used it for one trip and it was decent, but there isn't any real need to resubscribe, you can figure out everything after studying the site for a bit. Not to mention I think the Dis is as good as it gets :thumbsup2

I think it has been mentioned many times that TSMM is not missing in the attractions :rotfl2:
I am not thrilled with the AVP services BUT I know my issues are very accurate...
I do not think it is appropriate to blame Mike because you can't find what is right there in the attractions list.
Yes .. its there...

I do have issues with stuff being outdated and I did mention them in this thread ... but you are not furthering your cause by complaining about stuff that is indeed there.
:rolleyes1

My problems do not stem from lack of comprehension. I am also not one to jump on board to bash this site.
I am very clear and accurate with what is outdated material on a paid site.

Another example is the new codes that came out today. I found out about them from 3 other sites and TGM has yet to update the AVP with them. Many of the rooms with the code are already GONE as it was a great deal for CL.

This is just one more added frustration I have had with his AVP besides the other items I have already mentioned...which are very accurate.

how about Mosters Inc Laugh Floor or Pixie Hollow - as far as Mke is concerned they do not exist? If the truth is that these are listed post the link to them then?

He also has 'Stars Motor Parade' as the Hollywood Studios Parade listed - which hasn't been at the studos for a long time.

I think what bothers most, is I just cannot understand why these very obvious things are not updated - it would take him or his web team minutes to do? If TGM was a free site it could be forgiven, but this is a paid for product.

It is the equivelent of buying a TV guide, and some of the listings to be last weeks or worse last years TV schedules.

I agree those items have not been updated BUT you did not mention those items. You were chewing on TSMM like a dog with a bone.
My post was very clear in stating TSMM was in fact there.

I am suprised that The DIS and WDWINFO - who's reputation has been built on giving people accurate WDW information - even allows him to advertise.

I mean if the team who run WDWINFO began listing innacurate information or missed mentoning attractions altogether there would be a major backlash- however here we have an offiicial sponsor doing just that and charging for it.

I am the first to jump up and down and shout not everything on the DIS is accurate and neither is WDWinfo :lmao:

Inaccurate and mentioning are issues you would have to take up with the DIS team and their complaints department. But if you do, please make sure to spell the two words you have such an issue with correctly or they may toss your complaint :rotfl2::thumbsup2
