I might be switching to a different job which would make going to our planning session around the 6 month mark difficult. Has anyone gone BEFORE your six months has come up? We are getting married in March 2010 and our planner said we could come around August but I didn't know what the pros and cons of going early would be.

Any thoughts are welcomed!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I did mine 8 months out. It was nice to get everything settled for the most part. I did add a few things to my floral but other than that everything was all planned. It was nice to get it all over with.

Were they able to give you finalized prices on things? Such as cake, centerpieces, etc. I thought I was told they can't do that until 6 months out. I'm anxious to get down there and be able to better visualize things.

Thanks!

We also did ours at a little over 8 months out...we haven't gotten our BEO yet, but I'm not stressing, bc they said the prices wouldn't be guaranteed until 6 months. Congrats on the new job!!

I did my first one at 7 months out. I thought it was the last time I would be in the states before the wedding. I don't think the time was the issue...but I was not prepared AT ALL. I hadn't finalized my plans on colors, flowers, etc. We hadn't even asked our wedding party yet. It was nice to do the site visit, and we did get that nailed down, but the rest was kind of a waste. I ended up scheduling another trip because I felt so unprepared the first time.

If you have time to think and plan and you're ready...you'll be fine!

I did get my BEO about 2 weeks after but they did tell me that the prices may go up which they did but it was so little that I barely noticed.

Hi We are getting married in February 2010 and are going out for our planning session next month. We live in England and didnt think we would be able to have a planning session, but we have just booked some last minute flights, which were a bargain. Im quite organised and have already decided on colours and flowers etc, so il have to let you know how we find it. Good luck with your planning.

Thanks everyone. We will probably do the planning session prior to six months out. It makes me a little nervous that they won't be able to give me final prices...but I suppose we can work around it.

Thanks again!
