Anybody Calling For Kindani Right Now????

I called this morning right at 9am,and after very little wait we got our ressie for May 31st through June 5th in a 2 bedroom Savanna view in the Kidani Village. We are so happy!

Well, I did things a little differently...

I emailed MS for a reservation at Kidani Saturday night ~ knowing they would not read it until at least Sunday. About 1pm today, I got a repsonse that they couldn't accept email requests that were sent prior to August 10!

So, I decided to call once I seen that. Egads! MS is closed for the day!
:scared1:

I sent the email again requesting my Kidani reservation so hopefully they respond tomorrow. Certatinly not as quick as calling but then I have no interest in being on the phone for 50+ minutes as some have reported. Besides, I like to wait until after the rush in most things ~ I need less stress in life, not more.

when we bought into AKV last month we had an offer good until 8-31-08 for 125 "vacation points" that could be used at any Disney Vacation Club Resort instead of just Saratoga Springs. We have a little (and I mean tiny) bit of Disney stock and it was a promotion for Disney stockholders. This is why I will be able to book AKV with what I call "developer points" but still have to wait for the seven month mark. After I posted earlier today I thought some may wonder what I was talking about:confused:

And how did you come across that infromation? I am a stockholder (tiny here also) and am not aware of such a deal.

several months ago a small (4 pages front and back with Snow White on front) DVC pamphlet came in mail with the info about the annual meeting of shareholders. It was an offer (really advertisement) for a complimentary vacation (one-time allotment of 125 Development points) when you purchased real estate in a DVC resort.

[/BThe current incentive for Developer Points at AKV Kidani..I was told by a telphone guide that the current incentive for AKV Kidani Developer Points MUST BE USED WITHIN 1 YR FROM DATE OF CONTRACT..

I was told the Developer Points, point for point match, can be used in 3 ways.

SSR
One of the three Disneyland Resorts
Through II Interval..

Seriously contemplating a purchase at AKV Kidani at this point, but confused by some of these posts...

Anyone know anything different..

Much thanks as always!!!!!!:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

The explanation to this is in the word "current". Think of it this way, a local retailer advertises item "x" one week with buy one and get one 1/2 off. Two weeks later, that same retailer advertises the same item "x", however this time the "current" offer is for 20% off. The offer you got on item "x" depends on which week you purchased it.

The same is true with the Developer Points. Whatever the "current" incentive to buy.....when you purchase.....is what you would get. Some people had Developer Points that could be used at any DVC, and apparently others had restrictions as to where they could be used.

We purchased on January 30, 2008. Our DP's could be used at any DVC Resort. However, they expired 1 year from the date of that contract, so we knew we had to use them before January 30, 2009. It was also explained to us that the reservations, using these points, couldn't be made any farther out than 7 months. The reason for that is the DP's don't carry a Home Resort, so they can't be used within the 7 mo to 11 mo time frame that is referred to as "The Home Resort Advantage." Yes, you're receiving these DP's for purchasing at AKV, but they are not to be considered AKV points that carry that "Home Resort Advantage" when making reservations.

Hope this helps explain why there are so many different posts about DP's. Don't let that sway you from your purchase. You will get whatever the "current" incentive to buy is.

Did you get the shareholder development points IN ADDITION to the regular developer points?
