Took 45 mins but we are in for std studio from 5/21 to 5/30

They allowed you to make a 9 day reservation all at once? ... or was this converting an existing Jambo reservation to Kidani?

I was on hold 50+ minutes and the same thing happened to me that others are reporting.....the line would just ring and ring and nothing picked up. Had to call back 3 times to get through. I finally did get my ressie for 10 nights, May 24 - June 3 in a 1 bdr. stnd. view!

The CM warned me about construction going on at AKL until 2011. That prompted me to ask if the Kidani pool would be opened. She said it "should" be. That concerns me a bit. I don't want to stay there unless the pool is open. I hope we know for sure about that soon!

Called at 9:15 to book my May stay at Kidani and while I was talking to MS it dawned on me that I could not use my developer points before 7 months!! OH WELL!!! Told MS I would just call back in October. He said it hadn't been too bad this morning and that most callers had been very patient. I was on hold only eight minutes. Anyway, good luck to everyone and I hope you get what you want!! Like I said on other post...please save me just one little one bedroom please!!!!

I made a 10 day reservation also. The CM didn't even hesitate. Maybe it is because we are outside the 11 month mark?

They are within the 11 month window, why wouldnt they be allowed to book 9 days?

We called right at 9am and got through no problem. We were told that we would need to call back because they were having a problem with the computer. So I called back at 9:45 and was told my wait time would be 30 minutes Luckily, it was picked up after 10 minutes and I am happy to say we got a savannah view studio for July 1-4! This was our first ever ressie and I am glad it went relatively smooth! Good Luck to everyone!

I was on for 50 mins on hold , my cast member couldn't even see my 50 point add on !!!
Was looking in my 07 use year .
I hung up & called again - waited 15 mins & got my desired ressie - 1 night Grand Villa May 28th , right in the middle f our OKW ressie.
Happy now

We just booked a 2 bedroom savanna view at Kidani for 6/7-6/12. It took 7 minutes.

The wounds of being kicked out of my AKV concierge room in October are already healing, lol.

I called right at 9:00am, got through, was on hold for several minutes before it was answered, then when I tried to move things along, the CM insisted on reading all the booking rules to me. I was trying for a 1BR Sav view for opening night, and I thought we would never get it done. Then he said something to the effect of "uh oh", and asked if I would mind waiting. Well, 50 minutes later, he finally came back, and fortunately, we did get our 1 br for opening night. I hope it was worth the aggravation. He mentioned that the whole system was having problems and couldn't enter the ressies. Like someone else posted, you would think this would have been addressed before this morning.

Anyway, we're booked.

At about 11:30 this morning I freaked out because I had forgot to call at 9am. We called and got through right away -- didn't even have my card out before she answered. Got a Studio Savannah View for 5/1-5/9! There were 1 bedroom Savannah View rooms available for the same dates but I didn't want to borrow points.

Congrats to everyone else who got what they wanted!

I thought the developer points were only good at SSR and then other non dvc resorts?

Nope. You can use your DP's for anything. We used our DP's for a 14 night stay at ALK Concierge, plus a few nights at the Grand Californian at Disney Land.

I just bought this past week and my guide told me they were only good at ssr and outside places..not good at any other dvc resort...could that be the new deal? I asked specifically about using them after akv opened in may if they could be used at any other resort. I am not a ssr fan

The new dp are only good for SSR and no where else....unless it changed from July 26th and you have to use them within a year.

They are for buying at AKV and can only be used at SSR.

The reason being that they are selling Kidani now and people cannot stay there till May 1st. That's what I was told anyway. Soon, the dp will go away as there is no reason for them.

Yes, only SSR...no where else.

Last summer they could be used at any DVC from what I remember.

That's what I remember, too. People were complaining that it was harder to get reserations at their home resorts because there were too many developer points out there being used. Seems odd to me that they are restricted to SSR only unless SSR is the place people want the least.
