I agree with the OP's preference for divided government. I'm not too worried about voting for Kerry and ending up with an all-Democratic government. Given the Texas Republicans' controversial redistricting, it is highly unlikely that the House will go to the Dems after this election. And no matter what happens in the Senate, Dems won't have the 60 votes it takes to halt a fillibuster.
