For those on the DP, do you bring your leftovers (doggie bag) from the restaurant? Not just desert but the entree portion that maybe didnt get eaten? I read this on another message board that some people do this. :confused3

We did sometimes... not often, but a couple times when there was enough left to be breakfast the next day. We went in January, so we weren't worried about things spoiling in the heat, and generally we went back to the room after dinner (tended to eat late since it was 2 adults), even if we were going to DTD or something later. I think we did this 2-3 times over our week stay.

We also brought our desserts back a few times to eat for breakfast the next morning!

We have before, if we are going back immediately to a room or house with a fridge and microwave. Sometimes we stay with family in Orlando so it makes sense to take home leftovers (or when we rented a house) just like we would "back home."

We did desserts last Christmas. Oh, and one meal that DH didn't feel good enough to eat (not the food, he got a bad bad cold). We were staying in our motorhome so it was easy to put everything in the fridge and heat or not accordingly.

Won't be doing that with DD in August unless it's a dessert that we can eat fairly soon after meal.

I always did with both entrees and desserts (those that would travel well), because I have a tendency to not eat very much at one sitting. At WCC I took almost my entire pork chop meal back and all of my dessert. We were on the dining plan and the family and I shared the appetizers and with a goood mixed drink, I was just too full to eat, even though we ate pretty late (9pm ADR).

Probably won't do that this time as all of our ADRs are around 6-7pm and we probably won't be going right back to the room.

When did this when we could. If it was something that would keep. Mostly dessert that didn't need to be kept cold. We did take back almost a whole cake one night. And it had to be kept cold. So we put ice in the sink and kept it there till we finished it. If its something that wouldn't spoil and we knew we would eat it later, I would take it to go.

No. Never. Why would we want to save any food for the next day when we are going to have a TON of food offered to us again, day after day??

Because DH is joining us on our last night during our AKL 3night stay w/DP we're waiting till he gets to WDW to start using our TS. We have Boma dinner Sat night, Teppenyaki lunch Sun and Chef de France dinner Sun night. Before Chefs we'll already be checked into the BCV. After dinner (Im assuming we'll have leftovers) we'll bring them back to the BCV then go back to EpCot.

The only time we do it is at Boma breakfast where we usually get a few cookies and muffins to take back to the room for a snack.

Taking food out of a buffet is a def no-no, as far as I know. According to prior trips, and frequent trips to our local bufet :confused3

We have, but we always end up tossing it. Even with a kitchen in a DVC unit, we don't find time to reheat it and leftovers just aren't as good.

And we aren't even on the Disney "too much food" plan.

How many of you who do take doggie bags actually eat the food later?

When we had free dining last year we usually had breakfast at the POP food court. Since dessert was included, DH would get a muffin and I would get a bowl of fruit. We brought these back to our room to have as snacks later. (I had a frig for insulin).

I couldn't be bothered to carry food after eating at other places. Especially since on the dining plan we ate more than usual anyway.

We'll do this if there's extra entree food; the next day, we'll plan on having an early light dinner, using the leftovers, and then head back out to have an indulgent dessert (hello Ghirardelli!) :lmao:

It sounds like the dining plan is so much food that there is almost always extra, but if you are eating in the park and want to take the leftovers do you just carry it around with you in a backpack until you head back to the resort? I'm concerned that the food would spoil if we spent more time in the parks before heading back. Not to mention getting squished inside my backpack while on a ride.

I would consider it as long as we were on our way home and not staying in the parks. I don't think I'd want to carry it around the parks all night.

The problem is that restaurants don't hold the food for you if you plan to go to a park afterward. It's a pain to carry leftovers through a park.

We used our TS credits mostly for dinner. We planned ADR's around 7 or 7:30 pm. That way, by the time we were done dinner(8:30-9pm), we would just enjoy the nighttime festivities(ie Wishes, Fantasmic, Illuminations). So, we didn't need to worry about rides.

Sometimes, depending on how much we liked it and what it was.. I know we brought our pizza back from pizza planet and I snacked on some of it one night and DS brought back some of my steak from Le Cellier.

Try to see how much leftover the first night and order accordingly the next night so you won't have to lug it around.
