any1 going in december 17 2005 on the west

LOL! Welcome aboard Glinda. I'll update the info you send tonight & send you the link to the sight.

Thanks Colleen, it's a great group here but we are finally talking about the doubts that both of us were having with this cruise and it looks like it is going to work out better for both families. Nothing is definite yet though and I will transfer the site over to someone else to keep updated when we know for sure. It is really easy to do on ivillage.

Well, it's official now. We have switched our reservation to the 12/10/05 so we will be enjoying the Magic the week before all of you board. SPH 5024 is now open!!! I hope that someone here who wanted one gets it!!! :) If someone would like to take over the website, PLMK and I will transfer it from our family listings to a seperate one that you will be able to access. I will keep it up until someone can take it over.

Sorry to see you go Lisa, but understand. We picked this week so as to not take DD out of school much, but now I think we will end up taking her out 3 days anyway and go down on Wednesday to enjoy WDW.

That'll be over 1 year between visits! Don't know if I can stand it. I have active APs good through May 20, but don't see us getting down there. Oh, well, maybe with a little pixie dust.

Welcome glendamood!

Sorry to see you switch Lisa. But the good news for us is that I was able to book the secret porthole room that you cancelled!!! We are assigned to stateroom 5024 now! thanks for letting us know that you had cancelled!

We currently have the Main dining rotation. Can anybody tell me the pros and cons of Main vs. Late? I am trying to decide which one we would prefer.

Well, I can tell you this, if you have main it is far easier to switch to late. If you have late and want to switch and your close to cruise time, then if gets very hard to do. Main is the more popular. I've always had it and it works out good with children.

I agree keep the main seating and see if you like it. If you don't it will be SO easy to switch to late.

Hey guys! I updated the website last night. PLMK if I have left anything out. I'm not sure if I have posted all of the pictures. My brain is pretty fried from fighting with the insurance company for MIL's chemo.

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is doing good!

Lisa,
I'm also sorry you won't be joining us on the Dec 17 cruise. But I also understand. I had to cancel my original cruise to this one. But luckily DCL will let us transfer our cruise dates without any trouble.

coinkc,
I am so glad you were able to get the SPR. :cool1:

Just checking in. My sister just called and she wants to go to WDW at Easter. Oh well, I guess I have to plan a trip now. Hate doing it because we will have to pay rack rates on hotels, I have always used codes for all my trips.

OK, I'm "coming out of the closet"...not what you think. Unbeknownst to our children, we are planning on being on this cruise. I've been lurking, and watching all the posts for the last 5 months (since our last cruise). We haven't said anything to the kids just in case something changes...my DD is like me and doesn't cope well with disappointment. At the time of the cruise, DH and I will have DD(11), DS(8), and DD(5). We will have second seating. We are definitely not morning people, and we never eat dinner before 7 at home. We had second seating on our second cruise (their first) in Jan 03, and they handled it beautifully. Gave them time to get a nap after the day's activities if necessary.
As of right now, we will also have my DM with us, and are trying to convince DH's DM and DD to come as well. MIL is a teacher on the crux of retiring. If she can figure a way to swing retiring at the end of this year, they will join us. Unfortunately, if she doesn't, her county goes THROUGH DEC 23 this year. I couldn't believe that when she told me. UGH!
We will probably do the island tours and museums as our excursions...with 5 of us (love my DM, but she's gotta pay her own excursions and tips!) it gets quite pricey to do the other excursions. Will DEFINITELY make the pilgrimage to Margaritaville in Key West!!!!!
My kids are gonna flip when they find out. It's hard to keep it from them b/c we're excited. We probably won't tell them until around the time we have to make our final payment. This IS Christmas in our house. I think we will come home right after the cruise b/c my DS is having a baby in April, and my DM wants to be here for the baby's first Christmas. Can't say I blame her.
Although, we have considered going to WDW for a day or 2 before the cruise. AHHHH, so many wonderful decisions to make!

Here's hoping nothing changes in the next 10 months!!!!!

krhardy - Welcome to the Dec 17 cruise.
Our group is growing and growing. Can't wait for our turn to cruise! We've been debating driving vs flying. I want to fly, but my husband wants to drive - he hates flying. I'm not looking forward to 2 days of driving before and after the cruise, but we always drive on vacations - much cheaper - will be half the cost at least for transportation. The flights are just being released for next Dec on most airlines and of course no bargins yet. If we drive that will just leave more $ for excursions, souviners, etc.
Have a good week.
Kathy :sunny:

Hello everyone. Glad to see new members! :wave2: Anyway, we are flying. Only because of Christmas Eve. Must be back at home for Santa to come that evening!

I've been checking airfares today. I wouldn't usually get the tickets this far in advance, but I'm worried due to flying back on Christmas Eve. Anyone else worried about this?

Delta seems to have some good fares right now. I may just go ahead and book the flights and pay for it and I'll have one less thing to worry about. But we can't decide if we want to go 1 or 2 days before. Probably just one day. Fly in on Friday, 16th (my DD's 8th B-day). Maybe do MVMCP that night if they have it. That would be fun. Anyone else have plans yet? Not trying to wish my life away, but time does move slow when you're this excited. :hourglass

We're going! Me (41), DH (49), DS#1 (9 1/2) and DS#2 (8)... ages at time of sailing :) We were supposed to go in March this year but a variety of things have kept us from going, so we rebooked for Dec. 17th (and saved over $3K off our original sailing price plus have a Cat. 4 booked rather than the Cat. 6 we originally were going to have).

This is our celebration for achieving our black belts in taekwondo -- the boys and I earned ours in August 2004 -- we were going in March because of school breaks, but long story short, we had to postpone til winter break this year. Either way, it's gonna be a blast!

Cindy,
Welcome to the Dec 17 cruise. We also had to cancel a March cruise and change to this cruise. I think it will much better to cruise around the holidays.
Kathy :flower:

So has anyone gotten our SPH room 5124 since it was cancelled again? I hope that a DISer ends up getting it. :)

Well, due to my work schedule being unaccomadating, we are going to have to cancel our cruise in Dec. I hope you all have a wonderful time!!!! Please tell Mickey we are sorry and that we WILL get back to see him again...just not sure when right now.

As soon as I let my travel agent know, I will be cancelling a Secret Porthole room...5024 (I'm pretty sure). Hope a fellow Dis'er gets it if you are looking for one!

Hi everyone! :wave2:
Lisa- Sorry to see you go. Have a great time on your sailing and save some food for us!!

Colleen (princessmomma) I will also have a six year old Lauren on board!! I am so hoping she will make a friend and like the club. Looks like khardy has a little girl that age too. What's her name?

Anyone have any more thoughts on a name for our group? Has anyone volunteered to take over for Lisa?

Is there anyone here who can take over the web page for this cruise or transfer the information to a format that you are use to? Ivillage is super easy. I have just accepted more responsibility with the PTO at DS's school and that is going to be taking alot more of my time. LMK so that I can try to copy the site to a file you can access.

hey im goin i strated this thing but i forgot the apssword so yea but anyways hows everyone is everyone excited this is my frist cruise ill be 16 guy hopefully itll be fun
