Colleen, I have never heard of the Peabody. I take it is in Orlando? What is the dick parade? I am curious.

Hugs
Tami

Hmmm! Sorry Tami, can't tell you much about that parade! :rotfl:

But I can tell you that the DUCK parade at the Orlando Peabody is a little parade of ducks and ducklings they have at 11 and 5 in the afternoon when they parade the ducks into the lobby of the hotel on a red carpet so they can swim in the lobby fountain all day until 5 pm when they march them back outside. I have never seen it, but have heard that it is cute to watch as they are nicely orchestrated.

Here is the website. Click to enter and you can see the ducks by a fountain.

When is everyone else arriving?

Colleen

We're arriving in Orlando on 12/10 as we will be staying at the BCV (our first time as DVC members) the week before the cruise. :flower: I am SOOOO HAPPY that the cruise is less than two months away! :bounce:

Colleen

We are arriving on December 10 and having a week in Orlando before the cruise. It is 51 days today until we leave our place to drive to the airport. Then we fly out the next morning. Time is sure flying by now. I am getting worried we won't be ready in time.

Take care,

I just read that jeans are now acceptable for the dining rooms on the "cruise casual" nights of a 7 day cruise. It said that there is a formal night, semi formal night, pirate night and four "cruise casual nights". anyone else read this? i went on the disney cruise line page that takes you to Dreams Unlimited i believe and read that jean are now acceptable. any thoughts? this would make my packing alot easier since we will be in DW the week before! 2 weeks of packing and alot of dress up clothes was not something i was looking forward to. :guilty:

Happy October 21st to everyone! Eight weeks from now I will be sitting on an airplane waiting to take off for MCO!!! 56 more days and we are on are way!!! Gee, think I am excited? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Just a little! I am also looking forward to our Thankgiving cruise on the Wonder with DH's family. Two cruises in one month is pretty amazing!

No progress on pirate costumes here - although I did get everyone to commit to wearing them. Guess that will be my weekend project.

Wow - 8 weeks from now I'll be wrapping things up at work and double checking my packing list as we'll be leaving right after the kids get out of school at 2:55! We'll drive down to the Port where we're staying at the Radisson. 8 weeks from tomorrow we'll get our first real-time glimpse of the Magic!

By this time 8 weeks from today we (the 4 early arrivers anyway) will have checked in to SSR and I will be on my way to Celebration to visit Barb. I am so looking forward to meeting her as well as getting a glimpse of Celebration.
The concept sounds so interesting, I am anxious to see it.

Eight weeks from right now it is our turn to be at the terminal. We have waited a long time for this. Hopefully the hurricanes settle down soon for people in the area. It is just so devastating. My heart goes out to all affected. I wonder if Cozumel will still be in a position to have cruise ships arrive or if it will be like it was last year when the Disney Magic didn't go to Grand Cayman for a period of time while the people got somewhat back together.

Tami: Last night on the news we saw a house from your area that has been built specifically to survive the hurricane weather. It was pretty amazing.

Hope all goes well for everyone here from Florida. Take care and our thoughts and prayers will remain with you while this hurricane passes.

What times are you all planning to arrive at the terminal? We're planning to leave BCV at ~10:40 am, so arriving ~11:40 am. Should we aim to arrive earlier?

Stay safe all of you fellow Florida cruisers. I have been and will continue thinking about you. I can not even imagine what it must be like - prayers are with everyone. One of my co-workers went to Cancun last Saturday for a vacation - hadn't been on a real vacation for years. What a week she has had!

Scotch - we will be staying at SSR but I am one of those folks that likes to be first in the terminal so I would like to leave by 9:30 but don't know if I will be able to get the rest of my crew up and out. I like to get checked in, stand in line and people watch - the anticipation on everyone's faces is so much fun to see. We will pack our suits in our day bags and hit the pools / hot tubs shortly after boarding and lunch.

Take care everyone - stay safe all!

We went to Epcot 2 weeks ago and this is what we followed the whole time. It was such a tease.

Last night we went to Boo at the Zoo and the girls and I wore our pirate costumes. I do not have a picture of me, my cousin has that one in her camera. The picture that I have that shows you their whole costumes, the girls were moving, so it is a little blurry.

The zoo's theme was Pirates. It was perfect. With the hurricane coming here we thought the weather was going to be nasty. It started to ran on the ride home, that was it. We were thrilled.

Well I am off to read messages. Have a great day!

:earseek: Yesterday the school board closed school for the kids tomorrow. Wilma keeps moving our way and it is really bugging me. I thought we would be safe but not now. Maybe a Cat. 2 when it gets to me on the east coast but hopefully just a Cat. 1. My dh is putting up the hurricane shutters this afternoon. I am heading to the grocery store here in a little bit to get more water and snacks for the kids. We live in Brevard County so please pray for us over here. There are still alot of people that do not have there houses fixed all the way from last year. Kathy, where in Florida do you live? Are you in the path of Wilma? Is anyone else in the path of Wilma? Stay safe!

Hugs

Tami,
We are safe from Wilma, should just have a few cooler and rainy days. We live in Poinciana, which is about 15 miles from Kissimmee. We got hit last year with 3 hurricanes, they went right over the top of us. But this time we are in a good area. looks like it wont be quite as bad as they first thought. I will say a prayer for those of you not so lucky this time! I know the feeling only too well.
Please let us know as soon as the storm passes that you are ok. I know you probably wont have electricity for a few days. But we will b ewaiting to hear your all ok.
I loved the pictures! We follow those buses everytime we go to WDW and I keep wanting to follow them to the port, but since I dont have a boarding pass it wouldnt do me any good.
Your kids are really cute!!!
Keep safe and post when it's all passed by,
Kathy

We survived Hurricane Wilma. It was alot stronger then we had anticipated, that is for sure. We had alot of water come in through the vents in the attic again, drenching the upstairs hallway. A few trees come down, other then that, no biggy. There is alot of flooding around us. Unbelievable how much rain came down. I lost track after 7 tornadoes touched down in our county before 10 am yesterday. 2 hit before 10 pm Sunday night. We lost power for several hours yesterday but back to normal today. School was of course closed yesterday but the kids hurricane makeup day is for Monday the 19th of Dec. My kids are excited that they will miss that.

off to catch up on my emails

Hugs
Tami :earsboy: :earsgirl: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Tami - glad all is well and that you don't have any more damage than you do. Stay safe - and hopefully that will be the last of the hurricanes!

Hi Tami,
So glad to hear your all ok.
We got about 6 inches of rain and a lot of gusts of wind, but no big deal really. I hope Cozumel and Key West are back to normal so we can still go there. Cozumel is really bad from what I've heard. I feel badly for all those people.
Well it's actually cold here today, high about 65 they say. I actually had to dig out long pants this morning. It's been almost a year since it's been cool enough here for me to wear long pants. Time to zip out to the store and bank.

Oh my goodness, check out the devastation of the piers in Cozumel.

http://dive.scubadiving.com/members/photogalleries.php?s=8185

They said it will be a long time before they are able to rebuild the cruise ship piers and even longer before they will be able to get the entertainment infrastructure up and running again. Most of the sand from the beaches is GONE! Most restaurants and shops at the pier or destroyed as well.

I am guessing will be probably stop at Costa Maya or maybe Jamaica instead of Cozumel. Time will tell.

Colleen

Colleen, Thanks for posting that link. I wonder when we will learn which port will be substituted for Cozumel on our cruise.
