I can tell we just spent a few days at WDW with the grandkids. My feet are tired and it's only 8:00 a.m.
We had a great time and were very lucky on not having any long lines, of course we used fast passes when needed. The weather was very hot but the afternoon thunder storms cooled it down some and cleared out some of the crowds. We found lots of hidden Mickeys all over the parks. I have a book about hidden Mickeys but we found lots that were not listed in the book too.
Grandkids love to look for the Mickeys. My GD (14) wanted to see Robin Hood but has never seen him, so she was thrilled to finally see him, fyer tuck, and little john all at Magic Kingdom. We still have Epcot to do next weekend, as well as Cypress Gardens before they go back to Oregon. The new Mt. Everest Expedition roller coaster really looks awesome! It opens in 2006 at Animal Kingdom. For any roller coaster buffs out there the new Shekra at Busch Gardens was the wildest I have ever seen. You noticed I said SEEN, not RIDEN!!! My DH and GD went on it. It gave me the willies just to watch it!
We looked at Pirate stuff everywhere we have gone to get ideas for the Pirate's night on ship, but havnt bought anything yet. Riding the Pirates of the Carribean ride at MK got us all excited for the cruise. Well everyone is up now so got to get some breakfast. If my old legs can survive one more weekend of walking around the parks I will be proud of myself. I cant let the grandkids get the better of me.

OK, we told the kids Saturday. I think my ears are still recovering!!! To say that they are excited would be the understatement of the century. It is all my 11 yo DD can talk about. I am having trouble getting her to focus on her school work. My only saving grace is that since we homeschool, her work is sort of about the cruise. She and the other girls (Pittcrew DD-11, and Khakismum DD-12) were soooo funny...talking about a mile a minute. DS-8 and Pittcrew DS-9 were also excited. Khakismum set up a great pirate treasure hunt on the lake for the kids. Their first lesson was to navigate us from our slip to the fuel dock. THey learned a very valuable lesson...make sure that the map and the compass are both oriented north! But, it was a fun day and now we don't have to keep our mouths shut!
Won't they be surprised, however, when they find out that we are going to WDW beforehand! We are going to do MVMCP on the 15th (Thursday)
Gotta run..lunch is ready.
We are all excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! Sounds like your children are thrilled to be going!! There is no way I could've kept it a secret. I tried once to keep a secret for going to WDW for spring break - I made it up until the day before we left and then I blabbed. My kids have forever nicknamed me "Blabber Mouth."

Hey Colleen, it is going to cost too much $$ to change the flights now, so we are doing a "same day confirm" with delta. The way it works is you can change your flight 3 hours prior to your departure time for $25. Song has a flight out of Boston early, early - I think you land at 10:30 or something, but that would be ok.

We are doing the MVMCP on the 16th. I hope the kids won't be too tired. I think they will be so pumped up they will be going on adreline!!

There had been talk of a list of people going on the cruise, have you seen one?

I just added the REAS to our booking yesterday! Yeah! One note to mention...Pittcrew and I had been discussing the prebookings you can do, and wondering if you had to have your final payment in or not, since it isn't due until Oct. 3. You do! In case anybody is wondering, I double checked with the reservation agent yesterday, and even though you are eligible to reserve Palo etc. at 105/90/75 days out, you are only able to do so if your final payment has been made. Just thought I"d pass that along.
And just think, the Magic begins her journey home today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Kelley! I have read a little about it. What exactly does it entail?

Also, who gets to book online at the 90 and 75 days out? I know for sure you need to be paid in full to book Palo on line. It sounds like it gets filled up pretty quickly with on line bookings and they leave more than half for those booking while on board.

Also, when is final payment due on this cruise?

Hello everyone! It's been quite a while since I have posted. Just to refresh your memories, we booked May 2004. We have 4DC: DS17, DS15, DS12, and DD10. They still know nothing about this cruise!!! They will be so surprised!!! Others that are going are my sister, her husband, their 3DC, and my brother, his wife, and their DS9. They aren't telling their DC either! It hasn't been too difficult to keep this a secret because I just LOVE surprising my DC!!!

Our plan is to tell our DC on 12/15 that we are going to Orlando to spend some time. My sis and her family show up at our home the morning of the 16th and we head to Chef Mickeys for 5pm dinner.(6 hour trip) I get up to set up the surprise. Hopefully Chef Mickey and Minnie will open up a scroll with the words "YOU"RE ALL GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE TOMORROW" on it. Of course my sis and I will make and hide this scroll before our trip! We are sooo excited!!!! I know you all are!!!!

REAS cost is $339. For this you get 1) the added bonus of being able to book online ressies 105 days out (provided you have paid in full), 2) a "romance basket"...a basket with champagne, photo frame, and chocolate, 3) seating at Palo...this way you don't have it added to your bill at the end of the cruise, 4) champagne breakfast in bed one day and 5) couples massage. It's not a bad deal, and if you're going this year you're lucky b/c next year they are replacing the massage with the rainforest. The ressie agent I spoke with said it was b/c they couldn't get the men in for the massage...I dont' believe her!
Our final payment isn't due until Oct 3, but we will make it Sept 1 so we can make our online bookings at 105 days.

BAD GAIL! Sorry gang, I had to go out of town for work unexpectedly and then had PC problems but the list is all updated and ready to go - just on the PC at the office. So, if anyone has not sent me their info, shoot me a quick PM with screen name, name, ages, where from, email address I will be happy to make any additions and send it out.

I can't believe this is getting so close - I do have our family reunion trip on the Wonder in November but I am REALLY looking forward to this trip as we have not done the Western before. I also had a pretty exciting week - we booked the 11 day Wonder trip next September.

We did, too ~ and ours is also due Oct. 18th. I think it's 60 days out from sailing. I have a girlfriends trip to WDW Sept 30 - Oct 4th - so I'll be frugal then so I can finish paying the cruise. We've been paying a little along the way, using our Disney Visa so we can at least have a little back.

Gail, thanks for the list. And thanks, too, for the notice of only 18 more Saturdays. I can't wait to start packing.

We got our passports pictures done and our applications ready - just need to take them and the kids to the P.O. to turn it all in. I think we'll do that on Friday.
