Howdy everyone,
We are back, but wish we were still cruisin.
It was a awesome trip. The weather was fantastic. We saw the pirate's museum at Nassau and it was really good, but there is a lot if plaques to read so probably would not be as good for little kids and it is kind of dark in parts of it. But was very informative and interesting. The pirate who great you is a real HOOT!!! Watch your watches and rings, he's looking for your loot.
We also did the horse drawn carriage ride around the town, which was really nice too. We had already done 3 other tours there on other occasions so we just walked around and shopped on our own.
The pirates party is a MUST DO!!! It was the best deck party we have ever done. It's full of surprizes,(which I won't tell) but be up front near the stage if you can, and if your an adult male, watch out, they do take volunteers on stage. Be sure and wear something pirate like. If you don't want the ***k dress, at least wear a head bandana and eye patch or you'll really miss out on attitude part. On our cruise about 90% of people had something on that was pirate related. Lots of full outifts too. It was great.
The entertainment was fantastic as usual. They had Hercules and Disney Dreams, and The Golden Mickeys. Jumpstreet 21 was the main band, they were very good and got the audience really involved. The duo in the Promenade lounge was EXCELLANT!. They did light rock and Jazz, but they did requests too and they were very people oriented. They visited with us and were so friendly towards the guests and their kids. Most of the entertainers don't do much one on one with the guests, these people did and they were very talented. They really added a lot of enjoyment to our trip.
The food was outstanding, as usual. Our only disappoinment on the whole trip was their poor selections of sugar free desserts. We have health problems where we can't have processed sugar. They offer one sugar free dessert at lunch, if you don't like it you get no dessert, while everyone else has 12 to 15 choices. I think they should have at least 2 choices in sugar free. They did the same on the afternoon cookie tray by the pool, NO sugar free cookies were available, and at scoops they have NO sugar free ice cream. You can get it at dinner, so they do have it on the ship, so why not offer it to those who can't have the sugar. It's depressing to be lounging around the pool watching everyone running around eating cookies and ice cream and you have nothing. Especially since they already have it on board. I know you can go to the restaurants during lunch and ask for some ice cream and get it, but if your in your swimsuit, that's not really proper to do, and it would melt by the time you got back on deck anyway and the rest of your family would be done and you'd miss out again. I did write to the company about this , so I hope they listen. There are a lot of people out there like us so hopefully more people will write to
DCL and get something changed for all those people so they can fully experience all the Magic like everyone else.
But that was the only downside to the entire trip. We can't wait to go again.
Got to go and finish the laundry and get some food in the house.
