any1 going in december 17 2005 on the west

Khakismum
Glad to have you and your family joining us. We are a party of 15, not as big as yours, but pretty good size. Two of our kids have new jobs, so they may not be able to get the time off for the cruise, but we are hoping they can come along. There are several kids on this thread if any of your kids want to chat and make friends ahead of time. Some are teens, but they do have younger siblings too.
It sounds like you are a fun group to be around, I'm sure we'll spot you right away. I'm usually in Disney attire. Most I have decorated myself, so nobody else will have the same shirt as me. Got to go and pack for a 3 day trip on the wonder, we leave Thursday. Looking forward to meeting everyone in your group.

Hello everyone,
Just two more days until my surprize 3 day cruise on the wonder. I'm all ready to go! The weather looks perfect. I'll give everyone a report on how it goes next week. Hopefully this will help the time fly by until dec. It's sooooo hard to wait!
Wish you could all go along too. HA! HA!
Just kidding.

I haven't been able to read all the pages in this thread, but count us in too. We will come in a few days early and hits the parks (hopefully before they are too busy) and then fly home on the 24th. The kids will be 10 (DS) and 7 (DD). This will be our 6th Disney cruise. The first was 4 days on the Magic (before there were 7 day cruises) and the others have all been 7 days--three Eastern and one Western.

This discussion board is awesome and a great way to keep the Disney Cruise fires burning while waiting for the next cruise. Our last cruise was the Hurricane Jeanne cruise--pushing it back a few months this year, plus it is getting harder to pull the kids out of school.

Gail,

Just backed up and saw the information on the spreadsheet--count us in.

Nicholas (CBJHockeyNut) 39
Lori (frequent lurker!!) 36
Matthew (10)
Megan (7)

I don't remember the exact cabin number but we are in one of the cat. 10 porthole rooms on 5. (been there for 4 of the 6 cruises). Early Dining. We are from Columbus, Ohio (but to Disney Rocks my son dreams of liviing in Canada!! We come up for a couple weeks in the summer for hockey camp and hopefully one tournament during the year.) Email:

khakismum and CBJHockeyNut: Welcome to cruise - more and more are joining in. Hope we have more Diz'ers joining our cruise. It is getting closer and closer.

mom x4,grandma x4: Hope you have a great cruise. Let us here all about it when you get back.

Howdy everyone,
We are back, but wish we were still cruisin.
It was a awesome trip. The weather was fantastic. We saw the pirate's museum at Nassau and it was really good, but there is a lot if plaques to read so probably would not be as good for little kids and it is kind of dark in parts of it. But was very informative and interesting. The pirate who great you is a real HOOT!!! Watch your watches and rings, he's looking for your loot.
We also did the horse drawn carriage ride around the town, which was really nice too. We had already done 3 other tours there on other occasions so we just walked around and shopped on our own.
The pirates party is a MUST DO!!! It was the best deck party we have ever done. It's full of surprizes,(which I won't tell) but be up front near the stage if you can, and if your an adult male, watch out, they do take volunteers on stage. Be sure and wear something pirate like. If you don't want the ***k dress, at least wear a head bandana and eye patch or you'll really miss out on attitude part. On our cruise about 90% of people had something on that was pirate related. Lots of full outifts too. It was great.
The entertainment was fantastic as usual. They had Hercules and Disney Dreams, and The Golden Mickeys. Jumpstreet 21 was the main band, they were very good and got the audience really involved. The duo in the Promenade lounge was EXCELLANT!. They did light rock and Jazz, but they did requests too and they were very people oriented. They visited with us and were so friendly towards the guests and their kids. Most of the entertainers don't do much one on one with the guests, these people did and they were very talented. They really added a lot of enjoyment to our trip.
The food was outstanding, as usual. Our only disappoinment on the whole trip was their poor selections of sugar free desserts. We have health problems where we can't have processed sugar. They offer one sugar free dessert at lunch, if you don't like it you get no dessert, while everyone else has 12 to 15 choices. I think they should have at least 2 choices in sugar free. They did the same on the afternoon cookie tray by the pool, NO sugar free cookies were available, and at scoops they have NO sugar free ice cream. You can get it at dinner, so they do have it on the ship, so why not offer it to those who can't have the sugar. It's depressing to be lounging around the pool watching everyone running around eating cookies and ice cream and you have nothing. Especially since they already have it on board. I know you can go to the restaurants during lunch and ask for some ice cream and get it, but if your in your swimsuit, that's not really proper to do, and it would melt by the time you got back on deck anyway and the rest of your family would be done and you'd miss out again. I did write to the company about this , so I hope they listen. There are a lot of people out there like us so hopefully more people will write to DCL and get something changed for all those people so they can fully experience all the Magic like everyone else.
But that was the only downside to the entire trip. We can't wait to go again.
Got to go and finish the laundry and get some food in the house.

Glad to have you back. Sounds like you had a great time. I can not wait. time is flying by. Very fast. Our kids get out of school a week from tomorrow. it is so hard to believe. And only 15 more days until hurricane season starts. We are not looking forward to it at all. hopefully we will not be hit again this year. We already have some supplies ready.

Well I am off to bed :wave2:

Just a quick question. Is there an easy way to get back to our thread in this forum (i.e., some form of bookmark or something similar)? I bounce in and out of the forum (although have spent a BUNCH of time reading the live repo threads lately) and am wondering whether there is a an easy way to check back on this thread without having to page through the Cruise Meets pages?

Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks in advance.

Howdy,
I just saved it on my favorites so i can go right to it.
I didn't try to type it in from the URL bar. I just waited till I went to this site, as you are now and then clicked on the "add "icon at the top of my favorites list. It worked for me.Good luck,

Hello:

If you go to Quick Links near the top of the screen and then to Subscribed Threads. Then click on Last Page and you will see our thread. Hope this helps.

Sandra::MinnieMo

Thanks to both of you. I tried both and both work. When I added the thread to my favorities it took me to page 18, so it will take you to the exact place where you were then you set the bookmark. You can then click on the last page.

If you are already on the DIS board (and let's all be honest, we are out here maybe even more than we should :rolleyes1 ) then the subscribed threads take you right to it.

Two create suggestions. Thanks again.

Nicholas.

Hello everyone, I just found this thread. I have put the deposit down today for the cruise, I am jumping! This is our first cruise and it will be myself, DH, DS (8), DD (6), DD (2).

We were just going to do WDW for Christmas but I found a great price, at least I hope it is, and couldn't resist. We are going to do Mickey's Xmas party the Fri. night before we sail, just to get us in the Disney spirit!

Anyway, a big "hi" to everyone.

Laura

welcome aboard Laura.
Glad to have you aboard with all of us. Our thread is slowly growing. I'm sure as the cruise gets closer, more will join us.
I will have a 6 year old grandaughter and 3 year old grandson with us. Pretty close to two of your kids ages. The 6 year olds may be in some of the same club activities.
Is this your first Disney cruise? It will be our 7th. 8 and 9 are booked for 2006.
We are 15 people this time, if everyone comes that's suppose to.
We are looking forward to chatting with you over the next few months,
kathy

Glad you found this thread Laura! Good to hear from another Canadian.

Did anyone else purchase this cruise through a TA that had group space? Our friends want to go but can't find any quads. I told her that there will be some cancellations when final payment nears, but she is afraid the cost will be through the roof, which it already is!!

Wow, Kathy good ciphering! It has been almost a year ago I booked this cruise, now it is closing into almost 6 months!

My wife, daughter and I will be on the 12/17 cruise. We are also booked on the 8/20 repositiioning of the Magic.

Can't wait! :cheer2:

Revins,
Welcome aboard to you and your family.
We are getting a lot of people on this thread now. It's great.
Will the repositioning cruise be your first disney cruise or are you a seasoned cruiser? The people on this thread are great for answering any questions you may have, if you have any questions. Be sure and ask. I'm sure as the cruise gets closer there will be a lot more chatting back and forth with everyone.
Have a great day,
Kathy

Laura,
we too are going to be doing Mickey's very merry, although we are unsure at this point if we are going to do it Thurs or Fri...we are sort of leaning toward Thursday so that the kids aren't quite so tired Saturday morning. I'm one of those obsessive compulsive types that wants to be at the port the moment they let people in, and I know they will be excited, but I don't want to deal with whiney children Saturday morning. I want ALL of us to be able to enjoy Saturday!
My son is also 8, and I know that once we tell them that we are going (they don't know yet) they will be excited to get into all of the planning, and to meet all the other kids. Even though we are traveling in a large group, it will be nice for them to already have kids on the boat that they are semi acquainted with!

Hello and welcome abroad to all of the newcomers,

Nice to see another Canadian. We went through New Brunswick last summer so I was excited to see someone from there as well as we are from Canada.

We are also going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and are very excited about it. We have our tickets alredy for the Tuesday, December 13 party. It sounds like it should be great. It is our first time in Florida and on the cruise so everything is new to us. We will be there for seven nights before the cruise and then again for nine nights after the cruise. We have rented a house and will be taking in all of the exciting attractions there. Anyone's tips, suggestions, etc. on the attractions are always appreciated. We plan to do all of Walt Disney World, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Seaworld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove.

Looking forward to all of the fun and meeting new people.

Sandra::MinnieMo
