The only thing they are celebrating is not spending money on a birthday celebration.

That's one thing they SHOULD have saved their money on.Anyone remember when Cinderella castle was turned into a cake for 25? Ah yea, those were the days, back when there was creativity, freedom, and a budget larger than the bill for a family of 4 at Chef Mickeys...

TDO aka the worst theme park management there is does not do celebrations any more. They did nothing for EPCOTs 25th and nothing for DAKs 10th. What you see is what you get!
Yeah, sure. It's just the 40th not like it's the 50th. In general, 40th anniversary's aren't treated significantly by people. Quarter and half centuries are seen as significant to people. DL didn't put much into their 40th either but celebrated the 50th, and WDW will as well.
As for Epcot and DAK, well corporations (any corporation) does this mostly as marketing and a celebration at Epcot would not have brought in many new customers. And DAK, who would have cared?
They will gave something at MK on the day just like they did at Epcot's 25th. But really, why expect a major celebration for a relatively minor anniversary.
So announcing a new country and rebranding if WOL and JII4 for the 25th wouldn't have brought new people??
Epcot seems to always get the shaft...![]()

The castle cake and the word creativity cannot be used in the same sentence.
Abomination or eyesore are the words you're looking for.
