We leave in 27 days *crossing fingers* :cheer2:

I have not heard anything new but we are leaving tomorrow and I was able to check-in online today. Their 4 flights today to MCO from Dulles left OK. I think 1st week in January may tell the tale.

Believe it or not they offered my mom a job actualyl as Customer Service Agent at local airport. But she declined right now. Sadly they dont look to good. They have recieved bids though to buy the airline. So we will see what happens with that. If they cant secure a buy by Jan 7th, they will be forced to shut down.

That is where we are stuck. Our flight down is on the 5th but our flight home is on the 11th!! I just don't have the cash to buy two return flights right now. Cross your fingers for me that something comes through!!

Talked to a friend recently who works for them..... they're planning their finances for next year with the assumption that she won't have a job after Jan. 2. Think 3 "parties" have expressed interest in IAir, but it's not clear that they all want the airline for it's current operations (i.e. Virgin may just want the operating cert, etc.). It's NOT a given that they won't be flying after Jan 2 - I really hope they are!! Think my friend's doing a smart thing tho in planning for the worst case scenario, and may be using a rather arbitrary date.
Good luck and I really hope you get to fly both ways on IAir!!!

Yea whoever buys them probably will only keep certain assets and sell the rest. I know virgin expressed interest but they just applied on their own for operating certificate so I dont know. Will be interesting to see what happens. I would love it if virgin and they got a head start. Virgin would sell everything but Airbus planes and would use FlyI's certifcate to operate.

We flew I AIr down on the 10th and back on the 14th. I hope the folks who work for them will be OK. The flight attendants and gate attendants are the nicest people. This is my 3rd flight with them this year and everyone has been terrific. Beats USelessAir by a mile!
On the 14th, we were loaded on and the captain announced that we had everyone on board and we were leaving early. So instead of arriving at 8:25, we arrived at 8.

Yeah, IMHO it'll be a sad day if/when IAir bites the dust. We've also had nothing but great service from them and I can only imagine what fares out of Dulles will do if they're not around... not to mention we'll probably have to go back to using Terminal G :rolleyes1 . Yes I know their business model may be flawed and what they're charging doesn't cover costs (like many other carriers these days) but I'd be happy to pay more for the level of service they've provided in my experience - especially when compared to the other airlines serving the markets we fly to.

Just wanted to update. A refund showed up in my bank account last week. I am so sad to see Indepence go. We were on their last flight from IAD to Orlando. The crew was great and all terribly sad to leave such a great company and a great job.

We will miss you FLYI!!!
