Any word on discounts this morning?

When I called yesterday, they CM told me that the codes were expected on the Sunday before the current codes expire.....so that leads me to believe it will be on August 17th....

Just called this morning the very nice CM looked it up for me and said no I'm sorry no codes past 8/23! Please excuse me I have to go scream now!

You guys are turning into my support group! Again I called this morning like the rest of you and yes nothing yet. I can't believe that this is happening! We are going there on our honeymoon and my fiance is now talking about staying at the SWAN! No waterslide:( But I must admit I'm close to caving, I'm more worried about my reservation than I am about the actual wedding.

Sounds about right for code /AP release week before current code expiry. It was something like that when the May codes and AP rates came out.

That's possible. 4/28 to 7/3 came out on 4/21. On the other hand, 7/4 to 8/23 came out 5/8 I think.

I can't stand the wait any longer.......

I am so tempted to book at Hotel Royal Plaza with the mousesavers discount for $59 a night. But that rate with the $7 resort fee and tax brings it to $72 a night and my room only with AP discount at All Stars should be lower then that. But with no AP discount I am booked for $110.88 a night (October is regular season). If AP rates are $59 with plus tax it should be $66.08 a night. So that is cheaper the HRP. SHould I hold two reservations and just cancel the one I'm not going to use? I hate having money tied up like that but...

Now that I have talked out loud and still don't know what to do...
Someone just please tell us AP rates are out.....

Lori

Aug 17th probably would make sense. The new Visa offers must be booked by the Aug 15th.

Ok, Im booked w/ an email rate of 199/nite at the beach club garden view. Anyone think the AP rate WHEN they come out will be better than this?
Anyone remember what it was last year? What's the florida resident rate for BC in Sept? Anyone?
Im wondering if Im waiting for no reason.
hmmmmm.
Im glad I budgeted for rack rate even tho I never expected to pay it. More souveniers that way!
grin.

I think the cheapest thing I saw last year for that type of room was $179 for the BWI standard view. $199 is a great rate, good for you!!:D

The FL Resident rate is $199 for BW/BC/YC, so I don't think you will do any better.

Congratulations on getting the e-mail rate! I keep checking my e-mail hoping for one.....

I spoke with a very nice CM right before lunch today. She looked at every angle to change my existing reservation to a better rate but there was nothing available yet. She told me to be patient since I don't leave for another 22 days :D

As of 3:40pm (EST), no AP rates available past 8/23.

Sorry to act as the one clueless person on this thread, but exactly what are AP rates and how do I get them? Is anybody eligible and when do they usually come out? Any information would be great!! Thanks. mariamouse

are for annual passholders. Usually (and I mean that- USUALLY) Annual Passholders are offered a very very substantial discount off of rack rates at certian times of year. Sometimes as much as 45% off.
Anyone can purchase annual passes to the parks- only one person per party needs to purchase one and I think you can reserve up to 2 rooms (or is it 4?) on one persons AP. Supposedly, people have gotten away with purchasing only a childs annual pass (cheaper) and getting ap rates but I dont think thats the official way you're supposed to do it.
If you plan on staying more than I think 10 days it is actually cheaper to get an annual pass than a park hopper or the like.
The big down side is that you tend to go back a few times simply because you can... that tends to make them more expensive in the long run (as in my case- I will have been a total of 36 days in 3 separate vacations in the past 12 months when the next vacation is over).
Hope that helped!

AP rates are special discounts they usually offer to Annual Pass holders. They are usually really good rates and it's sometimes worth the cost to buy one for someone in your party so you can get the discount. They used to release them alot earlier in the year but have been holding them until the last minute lately.

I can't believe I am getting so stressed out about waiting for these rates!

I have been watching the boards for discounts for a few months and it amazes me to see how many people are so anxious to go to Disney that they will risk filling up all the rooms and leaving Disney slide by without any discounts. My point, if the rooms are all booked why should they discount? People , let Disney do they sweating for once, maybe they would have discounts if they had less reservations on hand by greedy people

I kinda agree although I wouldnt call anyone greedy! I did have a AAA discount rate at CS for October but decided to go ahead and cancel and let them know why..hopefully if there are less full rate or barely discounted rate reservations they WILL decide to do something.

Its kinda like why offer something cheaper if you already have enough at full price?

That is exactly what I am saying Diane. Now if more people would start thinking that way, it would force Disney to release more codes and discounts

spar is right. It is amazing how Disney can build parks and resorts down to the nth detail and make the customers jump threw hoops.

What is even more amazing, they do it

I booked off site at the Sheraton Safari and will only change to on property if discounts develop.
