Just wondering if this will get a jump start today.

Someone posted that on mouseplanet the new deal/promo would hit today and it would be the Disney Visa free dining offer already out there.

Has anyone tried to do it today? Are you sucessful or must we wait til midnight tonight to know for sure if this will be the new general public discount code?

Everything I've read/heard says Monday. Maybe because today is the last day to book the current promo?:confused3

I just tried and was told that nothing was out for general public but maybe sometime this week it would be.

Ok...have heard NOTHING about this. Anyone want to give me a clue as to what's going on?

Free dining For stays most nights 9/29 - 11/24/2009 and 11/29 - 12/17/2009. Opened for Disney visa cardholders yesterday (that's when I got my email, anyway).

In that email from Visa it said that it would be extended to the GP on Monday July 27.

One difference from past free dining offers -- value resort guests get the QSDP; mods and up get the regular DDP. Value resort guests can upgrade to the regular DDP by paying the different between the 2 plans (something like $10/adult/night and $2/child/night).

I am really hoping that we'll hear some more details (like the specific codes) tonight so we can call with the correct info. I hate feeling unprepared like this.

If you just call and ask for the free dining offer you'll get it - if they say (tomorrow) that they don't know about it, ask them to check with a supervisor. At worst you call back and get another agent.

That's my plan, and I'm hoping it works! I never have very good luck with special offers, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes that it really does come out as expected, and that there will be availability at Pop.

When can we call? I hope I can just get it added to my reservation at ASsp and not have to switch to a different resort.

I just called and the CM was clueless and so was the supervisor. I guess we will try again the am.

I called this morning and the CM said nothing today but a bunch of stuff tomorrow. So tomorrow should prove to be an interesting day. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

Does anyone know if Disney will update the website with the deals at midnight tonight (sunday night)?

We are going to Disney October 24-31 and were able to take advantage of the free dining plan just offered to Disney Visa cardholders! This will be our 4th trip to Disney, but the first time we have EVER been able to take advantage of a discount of any kind. I'm so excited!!!!

My husband surprised me with a trip to DW in Dec. :santa: He only reserved POFQ--no tickets or dining plan. He wanted to leave it up to me.

When I heard about the Disney Visa offer--I called to apply for a Visa--they said it will be about 7 days for approval. Now I see they might open up the free dining to the public.

If they offer the free dining to the public, can we just add it to the reservation my husband made? Assuming I get approved for the Visa, is it worth re-booking on the Visa? My husband is really not into Disney as much as I am, so I only requested the Visa in my name.

My original reservation (POFQ w/tickets) was on a different credit card. I have since gotten a Disney Visa and just called tonight and the rep credited my other card and put the original downpayment on the Disney Visa. You accumulate Disney points on your Disney Visa which you can then use toward your hotel stay, food, gifts, etc. If you are planning a trip to WDW, I would start accumulating points on the Disney Visa.

Well that's a nice surprise! :)

From what I understand, they re-book your trip when you go from room only to a package. Depending on what's available, they may be able to just upgrade and apply the code for you. If you can be flexible, you have a better chance of finding something.

I wouldn't worry about the Visa at this point, b/c the deal for the general public is rumored to be the same. If that turns out to not be true, I'd absolutely call and find out how much you could save if you did re-book.

Thank you for pointing this out. I got my change on Friday and received the email yesterday. I saved it for some reason and just went back to check. I have two sets of friends going the same time as I in November, but neither have the Disney Visa.:confused3 I have been watchig for this deal for them. Now I know I can have them call tomorrow.

We are staying at a Value with the Deluxe dining. The CM had to ask a supervisor, but was able to just credit me the difference on the QS versus the Deluxe. One phone call saved $700. I am a very happy Disser tonight.
