I've been bidding on hotel rooms for the last year or so. I've probably bid on a hundred nights. So far, not one person who I've bid for has had any problems! I personally only had one. Last year I bid on a hotel in Washington D.C. The Marriott charged my credit card for the $26 rate although PL had already paid it. I straightened it out with one phone call so it really wasn't that bad.
I also noticed that the front desk personnel seem either confused when they process a PL reservation, or put out because they have to do something different. Not quite sure why.
Other than that service seems to be the same, room quality is the same, and the hotel amenities are always the same. Why spend well over a hundred dollars a night when you can get the same hotel for $50?
I'm off tomorrow to Niagara Falls for a girls getaway. We're staying at a 3* hotel for $25! Lowest published rate is $79. It's a great hotel and I can't wait to hit the casino!
Some warnings about Priceline. You MUST go to the link someone posted above and READ READ READ! Once your bid has been accepted, thats it! They charge your card immediately and there are NO refunds or cancellations! Being informed is the only way to go.....
