Hi guys,

We're still looking at options for DH to work from home following a severe stroke 3 and half years ago and recently having most of his benefits reduced because of the limited recovery he's made - not well enough to work but not severe enough to claim higher rate benefits, bizarre after he worked from 16 to 49 paying into the system.

Anyway, we've been racking our brains thinking what he could do with limited physical ability and severe speech difficulties and I've come across some wholesale sites that sell crates of goods at between 12 and half - 25% of the retail costs, these could be sold on ebay at a profit (sports clothing, shoes, etc).

So has anyone any experience of this type of thing, (good or bad) or any suggestions as to what else we could set him up in? He really is getting depressed about bringing in £100 per week after being a good provider for so many years. We're open to all suggestions, however strange!

Cheers,

Lynn

Haven't done it myself, but do think very carefully and don't buy too much. One of my friends got into selling art on eBay - she bought huge bulk lots and wholesale crates for around 30% off of the retail.

This was about a year ago. About half of it is still in her garage. The problem with eBay is that people don't expect to pay the full price. In addition, plenty of people will be selling similiar products and the competition is very fierce. People who do this on a huge-scale will get the goods much cheaper, and be able to sell at lower prices.

It's a risk, and only you and your DH can decide if it's one that is worth taking :)
