Any WDW restaurants you won't return to?

#1. Chef Mickey's Dinner
(smelled the Fish from a distance-afraid to eat it-kids touching everything on the buffet)

#2 Garden Grill Lunch-the Fried Catfish (cooked like Chicken Fried Steak-didn't taste anything like fish).Food was the quality of Cafeteria food.

#3. 50s Prime Time-- (food was good but hated the whole pretend you are
Related to the server thing!)

#4 Boma (food to unusual)

Otherwise we have tried a lot of Restaurants others have listed and have had
wonderful food and service. We had the best meal of our whole trip at
Tony's Town Square (but we didn't order spaghetti) O'hanas is one of our
Favorites also for Breakfast. We've always had freshly cooked/non greasy Fish and Chips at England CS and eat there every trip.

Have always liked Le Ceilier and have ate there each trip. This past August, my DGDs and I ate there and were terribly disappointed.:sad2: The Cheese Soup was horrible!!! We just could not get it down. In past years, it was the highlight of the meal. Not so this year! My steak and DGD #1's, was tough, dry and unedible. DGD #2 got the shrimp appy and then a shrimp dish, whose name escapes me, and they both were horrible! Maybe it was a bad night but it was very disappointing.

The other place that we be won't be going back to this coming August is the Prime Time. This was just not good. Nothing was. The server acted distracted the whole time we were there. It was like he would have rather been anywhere else but where he was! It was the girls B-day and so he brought them each a cupcake. Very nice, except it was so dry that I thought it must be stale! The girls could not eat anything. We left there and got popcorn and ice cream!!!

I would not return to Boma. The atmosphere of the resort is great but the food just was not to our taste. I really do not like buffet meals in general. Our last meal at San Angel was not great and the service was so slow! I don't know if we will return there or not.

Boma!

We were there several years ago and tried it again last month. No need to try again! Wasn't our thing.

i cant believe how many of my faves are on this list,
i dont care for any counterserves really, but cindys? really?, scifi?
ohanas?
i guess i am a lot easier to please than some.
or maybe easily impressed? I expect the worst and
disney always surprises me with great experience.

but.....
IMO (i know a lot of people like this place)

the one i will never go back to is the garden grill.

best part of that is the spinning restaurant. the rest stinks
food is the worst (could not even eat it), staff, location etc.
even the birthday cake would have been better if i picked it up
at a gas station on the way in.

(the hostess was nice though, she helped me adjust my adr's)

good thread though, just starting my adrs for Nov 2008, and this is food for thought. R-R-R

Spoodles for lots of reasons - horrible service, food was terrible... atmosphere was not good. We were at the BC and had ressies at Boma but weren't up to bus travel back and forth after a long day. Can't believe we gave up Boma for this!

dancemomnj brings up a good point. I have seen several posts on this thread where those posting are considering changing their ADRs (as happens with every thread like this). Remember that these posts are people's opinions only, and, as with everything in life, your mileage may vary because we are all very different. If you want to try something, don't be disuaded, try it and decide for yourself! That is the only way you can know if you will find it nasty, overpriced, poor in quality, etc.

The other thing to keep in mind is that there are different reasons to like or dislike a place - and different expectations. Let's take the ever popular Le Cellier.....

I've been going to Le Cellier for years. I've had some good meals there. I've had some OK meals there. I've never had a "oh my God this is the best steak I've had in years!" meal - but I've never had a bad meal either. Atmosphere wise it isn't much - like most Disney restaurants a little crowded - without the heavy theming of say San Angel Inn or Sci Fi.

If I went to Le Cellier having expectations at a "this is going to be a GREAT meal" level - I may have never gone back. Compared to a really good steak, Le Cellier is barely worth eating, IMO. It doesn't have the redeeming (to me) features of being food I can't get easily at home or giving me an experience that makes just OK food acceptable (like Sci Fi - food not great, worth going to for us for the atmosphere). I'd have been so disappointed.

I did that with Boma - had very high expectations and as such, had a lousy meal. I went again - because I was with a friend I wanted to show AKL to and eat with - but didn't want to commitment of Jiko so was "stuck" with Boma. With reset expectations - it was a perfectly fine meal - not wonderful, but not disappointing - and I'd go again.

I guess that's why WDW is so great...such variety.

Won't go back to Mama Melrose

we love Boma.

We LOVED San Angel Inn! It was our favorite meal of our trip in October!
The restaurants we will NOT be returning to, however, are Sci Fi & Tony's.

Maybe this menu description should have clued you in to what you'd be served:

Char Crusted New York Strip Steak

HHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! :rotfl2: Is that what it's called? It's been a few years since I ate there, so I completely forgot that!! Well, yes, one would suppose that one might get a clue from that. But in any case, it was yucky, and my choices were really limited since I don't like seafood. DH LOVES seafood though (which was why we went there) and he was just kind of so-so about his. So I guess everyone else can enjoy Flying Fish, you will have one less family competing with you for ADRs!

I won't go back to Akershus until they get rid of the princesses, and the same for Cinderalla's Royal Table for dinner, unless they go back to a regular menu instead of the fixed price thing.

Mama Melrose without a doubt:sad2: inedible, congealed pasta; greasy/fat laden ossu bucco & burnt steak...what a trifecta

CA Grill; very good food; best steak we've had onsite...just think @ 2 credits it's overpriced since we weren't blown away by the appetizers or desserts (oh, that view though;) ). Unless we go OOP & just get entrees; it's off our short list

After many acceptable Fantasmic Pkg meals, H&V is another one we'll skip. Buffet just not making the grade & things just looked dingy/dirty?

Chefs de France. As strange as it may sound, for a day or two after our dinner there, my stomach literally did "flip flops" each time I merely thought about it. :scared: Cold, gristle laiden lamb. Extremely overcooked yet cold fish dishes with congealed sauces... :scared:

For us it is Fulton's!

Poor quality seafood, over priced, rude CM's and dirty!!

Chef Mickey's (dinner) and ABC Commissary are mine.

These are my 2 never do again for a sit down and a counter service. We were disapointed in Chef Mickeys after doing a lot of research on the disboards and hearing such great reviews, but the food was awful maybe breakfast is better. :) Linda
